Arcosanti primarily relies on passive solar techniques for temperature regulation. That being said, the project is not complete. For the comfort of guests not used to Arizona temps, there is a window AC unit in the master bedroom and fans to help circulate the air. It will help to keep the space about 10 degrees cooler than the outside temps. We ask that you open all the doors and windows at night and then close them up along with the curtains in the morning. During the hottest days it can end up being quite warm. Please enjoy the pool and breezy shaded Colley garden during the hottest parts of the day. A damp bandana around the neck is also very effective.

Guest access
Overnight guests at Arcosanti have full access to all public spaces on site. The seasonal pool, cafe (check seasonal hours), community room and kitchen, library, gym, hiking trails, wifi, music room, and architectural features are available for your exploration. You are only restricted from private areas such as residents' homes and construction areas.

CAFÉ HOURS:
The Arcosanti Cafe' is seasonally open Thursday-Sunday from 9:00am to 2:00pm for coffee service between 9am and 11am and lunch from 11am until close. We use a local, organic food vendor and the menu is designed and prepared by Chef Matthew Waldman, a graduate of the ASU School of Sustainability Alternatively, you can visit The 50's Diner, Bar, and Grill in nearby Cordes Lakes.

Arcosanti is a one of a kind community built on the principles of Arcology...multi-use spaces, frugality, and architecture interacting in harmony with the natural landscape. Framed by incredible canyon views, the "city" (as we like the call it) is a network of apses, vaults, performance spaces, and residences. We have a bronze casting foundry, a ceramics production area, a cafe on site, a 500-person amphitheater, a pool, and myriad other functional structures. We are home to approximately 70 residents who live and work here. Most of us have interests in urban planning, sustainability, and architecture, but Arcosanti attracts a huge diversity of expertise and skill sets. Be advised that Arcosanti is an active construction site.
Sedona and Prescott, Phoenix and Flagstaff are about an hour away. We are about 2 and a half hours to the Grand Canyon.

I am a resident at Arcosanti, an urban laboratory and community in the Sonoran Desert in Arizona. We rent a variety of different accommodations, including 3 apartments in Airbnb, 10 minimalistic guest rooms on the Arcosanti website and camping options on Hipcamp! I love living here because I have access to all of the collective resources we share (beautiful natural surroundings, pool, interesting architecture, easy access to my work, and an engaged community). It is a very innovative community and being here allows me the freedom to explore projects and skills I wouldn't have access to elsewhere. We have a team to support your stay so it is enjoyable!
