My girlfriend and I stayed in Luca's flat from June 30-July 2. Overall, the experience was great. The apartment itself is on the ground floor, so there was no carrying heavy suitcases up stairs. The air conditioning was icy cold, we had access to all cooking essentials (even a Moka pot with ground coffee for your morning espresso), the place was clean and comfortable, and the building is literally around the corner (1 minute walking) from the perimeter gates of the Roman Forum; if you're a history buff, you'll love this place as the flat has an awesome view of the Palatine Hill. We used the flat as a home base, and we were able to walk anywhere imaginable during our stay; we even walked to the Vatican, Piazza di Popolo, and the Spanish steps in Piazza di Spagna. Basically, there is nothing bad about this place what so ever. Luca even provided a map of the city. The only thing that I could complain about would be the lack of detail in directions provided by Luca in regard to how to get from the bus stop to the house..."It's just 5 minutes walking from the stop." True, it's 5 minutes, but as we were lugging around heavy luggage with no cell phone service, it took us 20 minutes with a paper map and a lot of sweat to eventually find the place. Nonetheless, that was the only problem we encountered, and I would highly recommend Luca's flat for your vacation in Rome.
The apartment was incredibly musty. I'm shocked that I did not see this mentioned in any other reviews. It's also noisy because it's on the first floor by a fairly busy street. However the location was great and checking in was easy.
Luca was so informative. He helped us with a hectic flight schedule that changed at the last minute and was able to accommodate our arrival time. He explained how to use everything very well. The flat was a very nice studio apartment centrally located. It's not the bet location because you have to walk around the entire Fori Romano before being able to access the Coloseeo, but still manageable. The coffee mugs did need to be updated as the handles were missing, but other than that it was a really nice flat. Having Air Conditioning in summer in Rome is perfect! Luca was also accommodating because our flight was many after hours our checkout and allowed us to leave his luggage safely in the building. I would definitely stay here again!
Perfect little apartment - even better than the pictures.
Everything was clean and worked perfectly :)
It's walking distance to the Colosseum (about 10-15 minutes), and from there you can walk to the fountains and the Spanish Steps.
Nearby there are loads of restaurants around that area - everything from a cheap meal, a pizzeria, or several quite nice restaurants overlooking the Colosseum.
Absolutely perfect and would definitely recommend!
