The apartment was everything we could want: clean, bright, airy , and the perfect location right in the heart of Rome. Michele was very attentive and helpful. We will definitely stay here again!
From the moment I met Michele, I knew he was a trustworthy and kind host. Those are the qualities that one needs to look for in a host when looking for an Airbnb apartment. He responds to inquiries very quickly, even before we booked the flat, and as we got closer to the date of our arrival. When we got to Rome, he gave us a very warm welcome and took the time to give us a tour of his flat, a rundown of his favorite restaurants, and tips in exploring Rome by foot. His apartment is very spacious, with a lot of amenities (such as towels, washing machine, iron, hair dryer, cable TV, high-speed wifi, air-conditioning, etc) which to us felt like staying in a hotel suite. Michele has a very good eye in selecting the furniture and layout of his flat. It is a studio but it doesn't feel like one because the layout and use of space is excellent. I really don't have any complaints about his flat. The only very minor things that we noticed were that 1) there was no liquid soap for washing dishes - or maybe there is, but we didn't search hard enough 2) there is not enough toilet paper (which is alright, cos a four-roll toilet paper pack in the grocery only cost 1.50 euro) and 3) there were no hooks near the window with which to hang our portable clothes line, so it was a bit tricky to dry our clothes that we washed using the apartment's washing machine. We backpacked so we didn't have a difficult time bringing up our luggage considering the 4 flights of stairs you have to climb. Regarding the location, I think a lot of people have already said that the flat is in the heart of Rome. I have to agree - it is so near Largo Argentina, Trastevere, Campo de Fiori, the Jewish Ghetto, the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Colosseo, Roman Forum, Piazza Venezzia etc. You can literally walk everywhere! The longest we walked was 30 minutes from the Spanish Steps, but it was a very leisurely walk. It was also very very easy taking the public bus and tram, they are all just a few steps away from the apartment. Downstairs, you can find everything you need - coffee, food, restaurants, bars, tabacchi stalls, grocery stores, etc. All in all, the location is just perfect and we couldn't have asked for a more well-located flat! I am very happy with this flat, and I couldn't recommend it enough for people who want to be near all the tourist spots in Rome.
A cosy flat very well located. We could visit Rome just by walk because of its location, so a great place and Michele is very friendly. I will strongly advice it !
We had a very nice stay at Michele's flat, the location is juste perfect if you want to discover by foot the historic center of Rome : 5 min from Trastevere, 2 min from campo di fiori, 5 min from the pantheon, and the jewish district just behind the flat.
The flat is comfy and nicely decorated.
The only point is that you can hear the traffic, but it's really bearable !
I would recommend this flat to my friends !
Brilliant apartment, run excellently by michele to make for a flawless stay in an ideal location in central rome - walkable distance to all major attractions, with most surprisingly close! Even in mid-august lots of great restaurants open locally, including supermarket. Would definitely stay again if back in rome!! Thanks michele!
My wife and I really enjoyed staying in Michele’s apartment by the Piazza Argentina. Despite some weather issues causing us to arrive a day late, Michele was very patient and adjusted his schedule so he could still be there to meet us the next day. He helped us orient ourselves by pointing out directions to some of the major must-sees nearby. Really nice guy who clearly takes pride in his rental properties.
The apartment was small, but very well laid out to maximize the space and make it feel larger than it actually is. However, its location is by far its biggest advantage. Located right on the edge of the old Jewish Ghetto (which was really cool to wander through) and within a reasonable walk to all of the things we wanted to see, we found the apartment convenient enough to come back to for a brief rest in the afternoon before heading back out to see more.
One clarification on the listed amenities for the apartment: Wi-Fi is listed as available, but the Wi-Fi access is through a usb-stick device that plugs into a laptop. It is not smartphone/tablet/iPad friendly. That said, we were able to find a few open Wi-Fi networks that must belong to neighbors if we stood in the right places.
My wife and I agree that if we ever make it back to Rome, we’ll look again for Michele’s apartment by the Piazza Argentina. Great experience.
Location is beyond perfect, the appartment is small but oh so charming and very functional!
We are travelling with out 1 year old and Michele was so helpful with everything including baby bed, tips for Rome, etc.
We recommend this appartment warmly and will be happy to stay there again.
This is a great apartment. It's a very large space with high ceilings and great light. It has a full kitchen and a nice dining area. I was quite impressed with the design of the space.
The apartment was very clean, including the bathroom.
The location is great. You can walk to pretty much anywhere, and there's a tram outside and tons of buses are available two blocks away at the nearby piazza.
I didn't actually meet Michele -- he sent a friend to meet us. She was very nice and gave us information on the neighborhood and the apartment. Michele was very accessible though and answered questions I had quickly.
I would not hesitate to recommend the apartment. I hope to come back myself sometime!
A perfect location for exploring central Rome this apartment had everything I needed for my five week stay. The place is wonderfully flexible for sleeping arrangements when addition guests are expected.
Michele is very kind and one of the most helpful hosts I've experienced on AirBNB.
I look forward to staying there again when I return to Rome.
We stayed as a couple for 9 nights in April 2013. This was our first AirBNB experience and Michele made it an excellent one. He was super helpful and the apartment was in THE PERFECT location. We didn't catch any public transport for 9 days and enjoyed walking to every attraction. Campo del Fiore markets were a 2 min walk which was the best part. Overall we would love to recommend Michele and his apartment to anyone staying in Rome and would definitely come back.
