Olympia is a unique place with a small town ambience. It's a wonderful blend of so many different types of people and it's the state capital too. Lots of local restaurants we'd be glad to recommend.

Interaction with Guests
We live in the home and we come and go during our guests' stay. However, we love to hang out too. Tiffany has two boys - ages 10 and 12 - that will be here sometimes. They are very respectful kiddos and our other guests have enjoyed them when schedules overlapped.
The local neighborhood is quiet and lush with greenery, flowers, birds, deer, ducks, walkers, runners, cyclists, and an occasional fox or seaplane. Ten minutes by foot takes you to an awesome lookout point and park bench where you can eye-spy sailboats, large container ships heading out to sea, paddlers from local rowing clubs, and annual tugboat races. It’s also a perfect spot to just relax, read, or write in your journal.
Ten minutes by car takes you to downtown Olympia and Capitol Lake, a beautiful place to walk, people watch, and connect with the locals. Capitol Lake and next door Percival Landing host Olympia’s summer season of festivals. Three local coffee roasters, one micro-brewery, and several nice wine bars/lounges are scattered throughout the downtown area. These tend to be busy before or after live theater shows and major performance events at the WA Center for the Performing Arts.
Store options in nearby West Olympia include a co-op owned natural food grocery store, Trader Joe’s, Barnes and Noble, and other large chains such as Target.
Public bus system goes everywhere! Closest bus stop to our house is ten minutes away by foot, corner of Division and 26th.
Large parking area (on property) can handle two cars, an RV, and a boat.
From SEATAC airport, head south on I-5 for fifty miles and boom, you're in Olympia! Take exit 105A/State Capitol/City Center. Go through the traffic circle, continue straight through tunnel, turn right on Capitol Way (north). Turn left on 5th Avenue, stay to the right. Go up slight hill to the first traffic circle then the second traffic circle. At the second traffic circle turn right onto West Bay Drive. Continue on West Bay Drive and go up a steep hill. Stay on the main road as it bends left then right. You are now on Crestline Drive. Stay on Crestline. In less than a mile, you will see our house on the left. Driveway is bordered on the left side by our neighbor's white fence.
Other Things to Note
We have two small Boston Terriers named Jerry and Skyla. Both are very affectionate.
No pets or smoking please - including outside on property.
My stay in Olympia was wonderful! Tiffany and Doug welcomed me into their beautiful home and made me feel so comfortable right from the start. Every detail in the room I stayed in was mindfully thought out.providing me with my own Coffee set up, beautiful coloring, and potential needed items in the event that I for got anything during my travels. They were present in the household, but I felt that I had my space. They both were ready to provide me with any helpful information I needed to get around and about Olympia. I enjoyed some great chats with them as well, and look forward to returning on my next visit to Olympia in June, which I have already booked!
Additionally, I was rather locked up from driving for 2 days, and I was able to book a private yoga session with Tiffany, which was hugely needed. When I come back, I will do the same thing, what a bonus!
Tiffany and Doug were both fantastic and immediately accommodating. They gave us a tour of the house and never made it seem as if we were taking space from them. The house is beautiful and centrally located. would definitely recommend for your stay in Olympia!
My daughter and I stayed at the Rhythm House as part of a college tour. We loved being in the home of Tiffany and Doug. They were very welcoming, warm, friendly and helpful with everything we needed. We spent time talking and getting to know each other. It felt like visiting family. The room was very nice and clean with beautiful views. What a find!
My stay here has been the most wonderful Airbnb experience! Tiffany and Doug were the perfect hosts...their house really felt like a home. They both have very down to earth, genuine and inviting personalities. I had my privacy with a huge private bathroom and an amazing view off the private deck, but when I wanted to connect they were also there to talk. Oh, and the bed is so so comfortable as well! They were so friendly and supportive of me while I was in town. I could not have asked for anything more. This really was the perfect stay all around.
This was my first airbnb experience and it exceeded all expectations! The Rhythm House is beautiful and the room is great, exceptionally clean, and with everything one might expect for a stay. The one word I would have to describe it is "inviting".
What really made the stay exceptional, though, were the hosts. Tiffany and Doug were very accommodating with a last minute change of plans due to travel delays. I came to the area for an interview and, once they heard about this, were very helpful in helping me to discover more about the area. They really made me feel at home and comfortable during my stay and their warmth and friendship was immediate. I wish I could've stayed longer!
We really enjoyed our too short stay with Doug and Tiffany. What a beautiful unit - everything they described and more. The room and bath a attractive and spacious. Waking up to a view of the Puget Sound from the private deck is marvelous. The setting is very attractive in a quiet residential neighborhood with a rural feel.
Doug and Tiffany recommended we have dinner at Tug Boat Annie's - a
vintage waterside establishment not far from their place. This is fun place - check it out!
Doug and Tiffany were very pleasant and helpful - charming hosts!
We have a great stay at the Rhythm House - we highly recommend it.
Pictures do come true! It's a beautiful and comfortable house both inside and out. Tiffany & Doug are wonderful communicator's, offered a warm welcome and throughout our stay were engaging and generous. Tiffany made fresh muffins at the start, Doug made us a breakfast and both consistently made offers to share in there meals. They were attentive making sure our needs were met, curious how to make it an even better experience and spacious enjoying their own lives. If the kitchen is the heart of the home this home has a big heart. Thanks you two.
We love connecting with people! I am a native Alaskan and my husband, Doug, is a native southern Californian. Our individual and shared life experiences give us much to draw from when we sit around the kitchen table, wood stove, or pool to ponder and discuss the various meanings of life.
We spend our time being entertained by Jerry and Skyla (our Boston Terriers!) and our eclectic group of friends and relatives. We enjoy reading, experimenting with healthy recipes, running our Vitamix, exercising, listening to live music, and attending Seattle Mariner baseball games.
I am a private yoga teacher and Doug is a wellness manager in state government. He is also a licensed massage therapist. Together, we manage a local business that offers private yoga, massage, yoga supplies, and day/overnight retreats.
We both have long histories with the Olympia area and Doug is the original owner of our house. He guarantees it is ghost-free.
We look forward to sharing our home with you! We believe your experience at Rhythm House will be relaxing, restorative, and fun.
