Olympia is a unique place with a small town ambience. It's a wonderful blend of so many different types of people and it's the state capital too. Lots of local restaurants we'd be glad to recommend.

Shared access to pool, large kitchen, yoga space, living room, downstairs bathroom, and TV room - we have a video library of close to one hundred titles. Interaction with Guests
We live in the home and we come and go during our guests' stay. However, we love to hang out too. Tiffany has two boys - ages 10 and 12 - that will be here sometimes. They are very respectful kiddos and our other guests have enjoyed them when schedules overlapped.
The local neighborhood is quiet and lush with greenery, flowers, birds, deer, ducks, walkers, runners, cyclists, and an occasional fox or seaplane. Ten minutes by foot takes you to an awesome lookout point and park bench where you can eye-spy sailboats, large container ships heading out to sea, paddlers from local rowing clubs, and annual tugboat races. It’s also a perfect spot to just relax, read, or write in your journal.
Ten minutes by car takes you to downtown Olympia and Capitol Lake, a beautiful place to walk, people watch, and connect with the locals. Capitol Lake and next door Percival Landing host Olympia’s summer season of festivals. Three local coffee roasters, one micro-brewery, and several nice wine bars/lounges are scattered throughout the downtown area. These tend to be busy before or after live theater shows and major performance events at the WA Center for the Performing Arts.
Store options in nearby West Olympia include a co-op owned natural food grocery store, Trader Joe’s, Barnes and Noble, and other large chains such as Target.
Public bus system goes everywhere! Closest bus stop to our house is ten minutes away by foot, corner of Division and 26th.
Large parking area (on property) can handle two cars, an RV, and a boat.
From SEATAC airport, head south on I-5 for fifty miles and boom, you're in Olympia! Take exit 105A/State Capitol/City Center. Go through the traffic circle, continue straight through tunnel, turn right on Capitol Way (north). Turn left on 5th Avenue, stay to the right. Go up slight hill to the first traffic circle then the second traffic circle. At the second traffic circle turn right onto West Bay Drive. Continue on West Bay Drive and go up a steep hill. Stay on the main road as it bends left then right. You are now on Crestline Drive. Stay on Crestline. In less than a mile, you will see our house on the left. Driveway is bordered on the left side by our neighbor's white fence.
Other Things to Note
We have two small Boston Terriers named Jerry and Skyla. Both are very affectionate.
No pets or smoking please - including outside on property.
My stay with Tiffany and Doug was absolutely wonderful. The house has a beautiful view of the surrounding area and the room/bathroom was well provided for and comfortable. If you have time to chat with the hosts, definitely do so! Very kind and generous people. Tiffany and Doug went above and beyond to help me out when my car died in their driveway- jump starting and giving me a ride when I needed it. Definitely a place I would come back to if I didn't already live in the area, the location is great being so close to downtown Olympia. I could sing their praises for quite a bit longer, but just know that if you stay with them- you will not be disappointed.
My husband and I had a great stay with Tiffany and Doug. Tiffany was very flexible with our somewhat uncertainly check in time. When we arrived, there was plenty of space to park and Tiffany was there to greet us, along with her two children and sweet Boston Terrier. She showed us around and up to our room, which after a long day we were happy to settle into. We enjoyed a nice glass of wine on the amazing private deck. We were surprised to see that our private bathroom had a nice coffee maker and plenty of coffee options to choose from. Our only disappointment is that we didn't have time to enjoy their beautiful pool! We had plans to eat breakfast with family but Tiffany made sure to send us off with some wonderful homemade muffins. We would certainly stay here again!
Tiffany and Doug couldn't have been better hosts -- accommodating, responsive and helpful, with great advice for getting to know Olympia. Their linens were really nice, and their place is beautiful, quiet and comfortable. We enjoyed the balcony off the bedroom at night, and again in the morning. Just lovely, highly recommended.
We had a really wonderful time at Tiffany's and Doug's place. For us, the place was magical. The view from the rooms balcony is very nice overlooking the nearby lake. Although the house is on a steep hill, it was easy to access and park the car. The room is very cosy and has a large separate bathroom. Everything is very clean.
Tiffany and Doug are a great couple. They were extremely helpful giving us great advice for our remaining road trip. We spent several hours talking. I very much enjoyed their company.
It is a pity that we only could stay for one night. We would gladly return any time.
Our stay at Rhythm House was great! Tiffany and Doug are wonderful hosts and very easy going. Their home is just as pictured, feels comfortable and relaxing. We enjoyed getting to know them and the area. Andy, Jack and Jerry are charming. Couldn't have asked for a better stay!
I had a wonderful time! Doug and Tiffany helped make my weekend trip for my friend's wedding a great experience. They came through in a pinch and lent some extension cords and firewood that helped save the day for the wedding reception. They are very polite, and the house is amazing.
About the Host, Tiffany & Doug
We love connecting with people! I am a native Alaskan and my husband, Doug, is a native southern Californian. Our individual and shared life experiences give us much to draw from when we sit around the kitchen table, wood stove, or pool to ponder and discuss the various meanings of life.
We spend our time being entertained by Jerry and Skyla (our Boston Terriers!) and our eclectic group of friends and relatives. We enjoy reading, experimenting with healthy recipes, running our Vitamix, exercising, listening to live music, and attending Seattle Mariner baseball games.
I am a private yoga teacher and Doug is a wellness manager in state government. He is also a licensed massage therapist. Together, we manage a local business that offers private yoga, massage, yoga supplies, and day/overnight retreats.
We both have long histories with the Olympia area and Doug is the original owner of our house. He guarantees it is ghost-free.
We look forward to sharing our home with you! We believe your experience at Rhythm House will be relaxing, restorative, and fun.
