Mike is a great host and available to you about any inquries you might have. Beware there's no reception there so call in advance. The cottage is a nice little respite just a 10min drive inland off the coast and there's a charming little town nearby. Would definitly recommend to most people needing a little getaway
The cottage was absolutely perfect for a 24 trip out of San Francisco. Mike made sure that we all the details we needed to find the place (which was particularly useful when we realized we'd arrive after dark) and made us feel incredibly welcome. The cottage itself is very cozy, and was outfitted with heaters which was very nice for the cold night we spent.
Mike was great—extremely understanding and flexible. We loved the cabin.
We had a great time in the cottage and Mike and his partner are very friendly and great hosts. On arrival there was some confusion on wether there existed appliances for cooking and the answer is no (actually this should be clear from their description, but the confusion was sourced by one of the earlier reviews). There is a stove, but it is not working. We bought groceries and Mike was friendly enough that he allowed us to cook at his place, and while cooking we had a long and great conversation and he shared with us some excellent local wine.
The cottage itself is simple but spacious. Being among the giant redwoods is spectacular. It was unfortunate we could only stay for 2 days.
This little cottage was the perfect 24 hour getaway - an escape into a beautiful forested canyon outside of Pescadero. While not lavish, the bed was of good quality and the space had all the basic amenities (stove, refrigerator, maps, etc.). Mike was quick to respond to my message and gave us plenty of space during our stay, though the cottage is literally right next to their house.
Just to clarify: there is a working microwave, coffee pot, and mini refrigerator. The stove that is in the cottage DOES NOT WORK. The cottage is above the main house, up another flight of stairs, to the left of the main house. There is complete privacy when you are up in the cottage, however, if using the bbq or fireplace during the summer, our guests can see into our kitchen.
The cottage was absolutely wonderful. It was in a beautiful area in the redwoods and was very close to Pescadero. The cottage itself was warm, cozy and well prepared. Thank you so much Mike for a great stay, we would definitely return again.
Mike was friendly and responded quickly to questions. The property is gorgeous. Cottage did have a strong smell of paint or something, but it was clean and worked just fine. We enjoyed it and would stay again! Thanks!
I live in the Santa Cruz mountains, self motivated, loves the outdoors, loves rock climbing, wine tasting, eating at different restaurants, and a father of 5, and a grandfather of 4.
