As described! Quiet, rustic cabin in the redwoods. It was a perfect getaway. We spent the weekend hiking, biking, and enjoying the beach. Pescadero is a charming little place.
The cottage was fine and as expected in a very nice location in the woods. There is a slight moistly smell of humidity.
My girlfriend and I spent a wonderful couple nights at Mike's cottage in the woods and had an amazing experience. We were impressed with the beauty, serenity, and comfort offered during our stay. Mike thought of everything and we really appreciated his hospitality. Our stay was both peaceful and private and a great escape from busy urban life. We would without question stay again! Thank you, Mike, for being a tremendous host!
Listen to Mike and bring your flash light because it is beyond dark, and there is an outdoor cat that is very friendly but he scared the life out of me.
The house had clean sheets, a very clean shower, clean toilet, and sink. I felt very comfortable the entire time. The heat works but be warn that the mini fridge does not get very cold.
Pescadero has so much nature around, we were able to hike through Memorial County Park. Within the first two minutes we encountered a deer that was stayed less then 10 feet away from us. We drove to Pigeon Point Lighthouse and saw Humpback whales and dolphins. We hike through Halfmoon Bay, and drove to Santa Cruz where we bbq'd on the beach and enjoyed the boardwalk in the evening.
Eating in Pescadero was simple Duarte's Tavern had a decent fish and chips on the menu, my girlfriend got the Artichoke ravioli which was the special and delicious. We also ate at the taco/gas station across the street which was surprisingly good. My girlfriend got a shrimp burrito, I had a bite and liked it, she demolished it. I got four tacos and could only finish three cause they were so hearty. Not a fan of there Pastor.
Overall this was a very fun two days and I would highly recommend staying at Mikes Cottage by the creek.
This cozy cottage deep within Pescadero is a gem. Mike is a kind, responsive host. And the window view from the cottage out into the woods never ceases to leave me in awe.
