The neighborhood

The Neighbourhood
Newhaven is a quiet part of Phillip Island, just over the bridge and a 15 minute walk from San Remo.
The beaches in Newhaven are quiet, secluded and very private.
The Newhaven Yacht Club is within a few minutes drive of our place, and right next to the boat ramp, which is a perfect place to launch the boat for fishing.
Ample boat trailer parking is available on site and the pier is a great spot for fishing if you don't have a boat.
An easy walk to local supermarket, newsagent, surf shop and cafes.
The world famous Woolamai Surf Beach is just a 5 minute drive and beautiful sandy bay beaches abound.
Easy access to all that the island has to offer without any of the crowds - it is bliss.
If you’ve never been here before, we are sure you’ll be telling all of your friends about this unspoilt and hidden gem at the gateway to Phillip Island. We love the fishing village feel of the town and the friendliness of the people who live here. You can literally park your car and walk to everything that San Remo has to offer. The beaches are superb and rarely crowded.
We have stunning coastline to explore and there are great walks everywhere around the area including an easy walk from our place, around the coast, past the old boys home, the old boat shed, the marina with a range of boats, down to the pier where you'll often see pelicans waiting for the fisherman to return to feed them, past the jetty, walk along the brick retaining wall, under the bridge and up and over the bridge to San Remo and back home again. That takes about an hour, or you can go a little further and continue walking along the track in San Remo to the back beach past the fishing fleet and fabulous views. I often go for a morning walk and take photos of the sunrise from this track.
In San Remo every day at noon, there is pelican feeding at the Jetty and it is FREE! It's a really close up and personal look at the pelicans and is quite a treat. There is a great fish and chips cafe right there as well and it's interesting walking around looking at the fishing boats too.

Mark & Tricia were lovely hosts. Their home is close to everything, but still secluded, quiet, and on a beautiful scenic property. Communication was excellent, Tricia called us on the morning of our check in to walk us through the check in process and check if there was anything we needed before arrival. The room was very large and clean, and quite private with it's own entry and a door separating it from the main area of the house, with a very comfortable bed. Mark & Tricia are lovely people, offering to make us breakfast in the morning, and giving us a map of the area with suggestions of activities. Would highly recommend, and would absolutely stay with them again.

Mark and Trish were awesome hosts for our first airbnb experience. Their clean self contained apartment had a comfortable bed, excellent shower, with a veggie garden full of fresh tomatoes we enjoyed with our breakfast. Peaceful location with manicured garden, and some water views from the mezzanine floor.

This stay was for the weekend to coincide with the World Superbike competition at the GP Circuit. The circuit is an easy 15 minutes away so perfectly located. The accom was exactly as described. The location is very quiet and the bed was so comfy it was hard to wake up. The hosts were very friendly and had thought of everything. We would not hesitate to recommend this stay.

Really enjoyed our stay in this peaceful and quiet environment. Mark and Trish were great as hosts. We are not big fans of dogs but Bella was quite adorable! I am sure we will return if going that way.

Mark User ProfileMark is a superhost.

Welcome I enjoy hosting and travelling, visiting new places and experiencing different cultures.
I used Air bnb a couple of years ago while travelling through Italy and really enjoyed meeting local people who were able to give an unbiased opinion on where to go, what to see and where to eat. Beacause local knowledge on what do and where to eat was very important
enjoying the experience of hosting people from all over the world and feel very comfortable opening up our home to our fellow Air bnb guests.
With extensive local and regional knowledge we can help you plan your trip and tell you about the hidden secrets Phillip Island has to offer.
So, come in, relax and enjoy your time in this beautiful part of the world that we are lucky enough to call home.
Mark.
