Interaction with Guests
My partner and I are long time San Francisco residents and live with a friendly 12lb dog. We can toss you a key and wish you well or help you map an "insider" tour de force.
The accommodation is relaxed and comfortable: the house is 2 story and we reside in the lower level. While we're often on the move with busy lives (the dog included!) - I make excellent coffee.
The dog is a hypoallergenic breed. She has hair (and doesn't shed fur) so she's great for allergy-prone guests.
Our street is tree-lined, safe and quiet. The neighborhood boasts some of San Francisco's best weather and there's a convenient bus stop nearby. Corbett Avenue at Hattie Street (our approximate location) is a five minute walk into Castro village. Easily explore multiple parks, tons of restaurants (for every taste and budget!), and the famous Castro Theatre and Mission Dolores.
The Castro Muni station is so close - why drive? I recommend that you enjoy San Francisco without a car (it's easy and cheap) but there is ample street parking with restrictions.
And the BEST part? This house is ideally situated for city-wide exploration!
The Castro Muni station (underground) or the historic Market F-line are a 5 minute walk (or quick bus ride).
Chinatown, downtown shopping, Fisherman's Wharf, the Ferry Building, AT&T Park, the Haight and Golden Gate Park - they're all easily accessible!
Other Things to Note
We've pinned our location to the Guidebook. Zoom in to better see where our home is located.
If you rent a bike while you're visiting - lock it to our lemon tree!
Our property is raised from the street and surrounded by a tall security fence for added safety and deterrent protection.
No smoking inside the house.
No overnight guests without prior approval.
When you leave, secure the house.
If one bathroom fails, we share a bathroom until repairs can be made.
Dharma vibes welcomed.
You are 100% responsible for the bike locked to the lemon tree. :)
Staying with Bruce and Mo has been an amazing experience! They are the best hosts one could hope for and their lovely house is located in a beautiful area just around the corner from down town. A small piece of home far from home. Can't wait for my next trip to San Francisco!
I was in San Francisco for a business trip, and I could not have asked for better hosts. The location is amazing (a quick walk to the Castro area, and great views), the hosts were friendly, including their incredibly sweet dog Roxy, and the space was clean and had everything I needed (I particularly appreciated the dresser and closet space so I could unpack). I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a great experience in San Francisco.
Bruce was a great host. The communication and booking was very uncomlicated. The arrival was very pleasant. They mentioned right away to make my own schedule and to feel free and comfortable in the house.
I feel lucky to have been able to stay here. I was relocating to San Francisco for a job and needed a place to stay for a couple of weeks as I found my own apartment. Bruce, Mo and Roxy not only made my transition comfortable but also enjoyable. This family made me feel at home in San Francisco from the moment I arrived. My experience
was nothing short of wonderful. I will recommend this place to any of my friends. Thank you Bruce, Mo and Roxy--my first new friends in San Francisco!
Excellent Hosts. Great location for conferences at the Moscone Center. Public transport, food nearby. I will try to stay here again if I am back in SF.
They say sequels are never as good as the original, but the Australian returned to prove that that sure isn't the case! I couldn't wait to come back and visit Mo, Bruce and Roxy in what really feels like my home away from (website hidden) and Bruce were as welcoming as ever and if I had my way, I'd never leave! The delightful Castro Cottage could not be in a better location, in a better city, with better hosts. I wish I could have stayed longer and can only hope I can come back soon!…really soon! Thank you so so much Mo, Bruce and Roxy for welcoming me back!!!
I stayed for 10 days during my relocation to San Francisco and had a pleasant experience. The neighborhood is very safe and residential, with muni only ~10min away. Bruce and Mo are very kind and considerate hosts, and helped greatly in my transition. They made me feel very welcome and at ease. Thank you!
