Interaction with Guests
My partner and I are long time San Francisco residents and live with a friendly 12 lb dog. We can toss you a key and wish you well or help you map an "insider" tour de force.
The accommodation is relaxed and comfortable: the house is 2 story and we reside in the lower level. Your room and bath share the upper level with our common areas.
While we're often on the move with busy lives (the dog included!) - I make excellent coffee. Note: the dog is a hypoallergenic breed. She has hair (doesn't shed fur) so she's great for allergy-prone guests.
Our street is tree-lined, safe and quiet. The neighborhood boasts some of San Francisco's best weather and there's a convenient bus stop nearby. Corbett Avenue at Hattie Street (our approximate location) is a five minute walk into Castro village. Easily explore multiple parks, tons of restaurants (for every taste and budget!), and the famous Castro Theatre and Mission Dolores.
The Castro Muni station is so close - why drive? I recommend that you enjoy San Francisco without a car (it's easy and cheap) but there is ample street parking with restrictions.
And the BEST part? This house is ideally situated for city-wide exploration!
The Castro Muni station (underground) or the historic Market F-line are a 5 minute walk (or quick bus ride).
Cable Cars, Chinatown, downtown shopping, Fisherman's Wharf, the Ferry Building, AT&T Park, the Haight and Golden Gate Park - they're all easily accessible!
Other Things to Note
We've pinned our location to the Guidebook. Zoom in to better see where our home is located.
If you rent a bike while you're visiting - lock it to our lemon tree! Our property is raised from the street and surrounded by a tall fence for added safety and deterrent protection.
No smoking inside the house.
No overnight guests without prior approval.
When you leave, secure the house.
If one bathroom fails, we share a bathroom until repairs can be made.
Dharma vibes welcomed.
You are 100% responsible for the bike locked to the lemon tree. :)
Stayed at Bruce and Mo while looking for an apartment in the city. They helped me a lot !!! They are great !
My stay at Bruce and Mo's home was great! Especially caused by those incredible nice hosts! Both they were very helpful, communicative and responsive and had always time for a little chat. I really felt comfortable all the time during my whole stay and enjoyed their company much! And their little dog Roxy .... She is soooo cute and lovely and I absolutely took her into my heart. The home is exactly as described in a very nice, quiet and safe area and so central. Everything was clean and so cosy . I really appreciate it to be their guest. Absolutely recommendable!
My stay at Bruce and Mo's home exceeded all my expectations. I was so comfortable in their pleasant, quiet home in a scenic (hilly) and peaceful neighborhood. I loved the short walks to parks and open spaces with expansive vistas, yet also close to transportation.
Bruce and Mo and their sweet dog Roxy provided warmth, friendship and great company, yet I had much privacy too, a great combination. I highly recommend.
I've stayed in this house for four nights, making an almost last-minute reservation, and did not regret making this choice for one second. This place is very cozy and situated in a historically important, but still very quiet residential area. The transportation to the downtown is very easy. The house, as well as houses around, is beautiful, very clean and equipped with everything needed. Having own bathroom was very comfortable, and the room fits one person very well. Bruce and Mo were very kind, well-mannered and friendly to communicate with, providing necessary information, giving hints about places to see, and quickly answering any question. They even helped me with cleaning my clothes after I'd got stains from a rented bicycle's chain. Their dog Roxy was very friendly and super charming, too. Overall, I enjoyed staying in this house, and definitely recommend it. Thanks Bruce, Mo and Roxy!
Bruce and Mo made my first AirBnB experience a great one. They were awesome about providing information for local sites and how to use public transformation. This was also my first trip to San Francisco, and living with locals definitely helped. They made sure to let me know I should treat this like my own home. I was free to come and go as I pleased, was invited to use to kitchen (though I never did), and my room and bathroom were clean and inviting.
The house is located about 5 minutes from both a streetcar and an underground stop, and the neighborhood is fun to walk around. I had a conference to attend downtown in the Moscone Center, and public transit was able to get me to and from there in 20-30 minutes, depending on the time of day. Even though I was here during Pride week, the neighborhood never felt crowded and it was relatively easy to get from place to place.
I loved my time here, and highly recommend it to anyone looking a more personal space to stay in than a hotel.
Absolutely no regrets staying at this ideal location; just a few minutes away from The Castro, a beautiful, charming neighbourhood, and hosts Bruce & Mo (and adorable Roxy), who were super sweet, accommodating, and just as charming themselves. Filled with suggestions, advice and knowledge about San Fran, Bruce and Mo made me feel very welcome and very comfortable to be staying in their lovely home. I would recommend to anyone, and would definitely stay here on a return trip!
Loved staying at Bruce and Mo's place. Super comfortable, and easy-going - especially for a West Coast first timer. I was totally at ease.
