Stay in a 450-year-old Oshi house at the foot of Mt. Fuji.
More than a place to stay, this is where history, prayer, and daily life live on.
As descendants of the Oshi, we welcome you into this living cultural home with a warm, relaxed atmosphere.
Renovated by the 18th generation, the house blends tradition with a gentle modern touch.A small café invites you to slow down.
Designated as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property in 2024,
we hope your stay becomes a meaningful part of your journey!
The space
Our home is a 450-year-old traditional Oshi house, carefully renovated by the 18th-generation Oshi and preserved with great care.
Unlike a modern hotel, this is also a living space that retains the atmosphere of the past. Elements of traditional wooden architecture and layout coexist gently with subtle modern touches.
In its warm and somewhat nostalgic atmosphere, we hope you will feel the flow of time and the way of life that has been passed down here.
To help us preserve this special place for future generations, we kindly ask guests to treat the space and its details with care.
Guest access
This is a historic building that has been protected for generations, and is where the 18th generation head of the family lives. Please refrain from entering areas marked "private" or "staff only."
During your stay
Our guesthouse has a vegan friendly cafe, fugaku wood works showroom and Oshi gallery. We offer a cozy atmosphere for travelers and also for local people. We are run by a family with small children so we hope the guests can feel like being at home!
Other things to note

-Our guest house is 450years old Japanese house so winter time (December-March)will be cold. We set up heating equipment at guest room and cafe space but not in toilet or corridor.

Where you’ll be
Fujiyoshida, 山梨県, Japan
Kitaguchi Fuji Asama Shrine is nearby.
On the way to there, when you climb Honmachi Street, you will feel like you are walking towards Mt. Fuji with a large Mt. Fuji towering in front of you.
Like Fuji lecture while thinking about history, challenge the North Exit Fuji Asama Shrine and Fuji climbing from the Goshi no Ie (guest house)! What do you think?
Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen shrine, Fuji Yoshida city, is near our guesthouse. This shrine is strongly connected to Oshi and Mt.Fuji history.
Honcho Dori is the original main path to the shrine and Mt. Fuji from which a short and narrow lane called Tatsu-michi leads to our guesthouse. A stream of water called Yana gawa flows in front of the house.
In the olden days, the pilgrims would perform ablution at the stream in front of the house before entering the inner-most room that used to have a shrine called Goshinzen. Unfortunately, the Goshinzen no longer exists in our guesthouse. Here they would be greeted by the Oshi, who would offer prayers for the well-being of the body and soul of the Fuji-ko as they prepare their spiritual journey to the summit of Mt. Fuji.
One can see a magnificent view of Mt. Fuji from Honcho Dori. Honcho Dori is the main road to Mt. Fuji. The pilgrims would start their journey from the Oshi house on the Honcho Dori towards the Sengen Shrine. There are several sengen shrines dedicated to Mt. Fuji with at least three of them as known original starting points to climb the mountain. This particular Fuji Sengen Shrine is located on the Northern side of Mt. Fuji and was the most commonly used starting point for ascent to Mt Fuji in the olden days.
