Wake up from a silent slumber to stunning views of the Wicklow countryside from the comfy double bed. Only 20mins from Glendalough, our 1 acre garden is home to a small flock of ducks and chickens and our polytunnel offers organic grapes and figs.
A really comfortable bed, ensuite shower and wc, fab memory-foam beanbag that you can fall into and let all your tension seep away.
Experience the exquisite quiet of the countryside interspersed by the soothing cooing of woodpigeons and the contented clucking of happy hens. Lounge in the garden as Red Kites soar overhead and, in season, snack on organic produce, especially our sweet organic grapes from the polytunnel. Look up at the milkyway sketched across the night sky and inhale sweet clean air. Even on rainy days you can experience the outdoors in our polytunnel garden.
There's access to river and sea kayaking, trail biking, hiking and rockclimbing in the Wicklow Mountains. Go for a Wild food forage with local wise-woman Geraldine Kavanagh of Wicklow Wild Foods. Place was beautiful and host very welcoming. Only met Edwin but he was friendly and helpful. Couldn't praise it enough and would come back again.
First off - Fiona & Edwin are just the loveliest, most welcoming people. Communication was great and the directions they gave us were easy to follow.
The cabin itself is just gorgeous! Set in the most beautiful spot in Wicklow, with a whole host of lovely hens and a fantastic, cheeky Rooster!
The cabin was warm and cosy, and very spacious! With a really comfy bed and great bathroom.
The adjacent kitchenette had everything you need to make it feel like a home away from home too, especially with the yummy breakfast foods.
Definitely staying here again in the summer and would highly recommend it!! Thanks so much Fiona & Edwin :)
My stay was perfect, the cabin was exactly as pictured and described. The lovely shower was a pleasant surprise as it knocked the socks of the one I have at home. I only got to meet Edwin but he did everything that could be expected to make me feel welcome from greeting me with a smile each time I saw him to showing me his drone in operation which was another unexpected bonus. I'll definitely go again.
Our stay at Fiona and Edwin's beautiful place was very last minute and unfortunately very short but they were so prepared - and even came to pick us up from Rathdrum! Fiona was helpful with advice for walks for the following day, which, in the end we didn't do because we found it so hard to leave!
The cabin is luxurious yet cosy, we had everything we needed, and we enjoyed a copious very home made and home-laid breakfast in the morning. I'd love to come back if we're ever in the area!
Fiona & Edwin were lovely hosts!
They were really helpful, giving us all the information we needed to finding the place and to traveling around Wicklow.
The Cabin was perfectly clean, and really nice decorated! It made us feel really comfortable :)
And the breakfast was delicious! with free range eggs!
I will definetly come back!
What can I say!! This delightful cabin and the very friendly and helpful hosts would put many a 5 star hotel to shame. We both wish to thank you for your kindness and hospitality and without doubt we will be back.
Would highly recommend !!
We love country living, growing vegetables, keeping poultry, wandering in the great outdoors. We also love to share the beauty that surrounds us. As well as English, Ed speaks fluent German and Dutch and some Spanish. Fiona speaks limited French, with a deceptively good accent!!!
