Joanna was kind enough to rise early and receive me at 6:30am. I felt comfortable right away, both with the hosts and in the space. The room is cozy, and the air conditioning pumping! Larry and Joanna gave some helpful advice on the local sights (the Capital tour is actually cool), and they also gave me plenty of privacy. Location is convenient to downtown and the famous Franklin's BBQ joint. Recommend.
Larry and Joanna were really lovely people. The house is a cool, very typical Austin home. Importantly, it had great air-conditioning, a must in Texas! The hosts made me feel very welcome, and took great care in pointing out that anything I needed in their home was at my disposal. I spent an entire week here, and always felt safe and comfortable but not imposed upon. I would thoroughly recommend this place to anyone thinking of visiting Austin. Oh, the cats are very friendly also!
The Vaughn's were a delightful couple and very accommodating. We weren't able to arrive until very late and they graciously allowed us to still check in w/ special arrangements. The room in the house they have lived in since the 1990's was just the right size and very cozy.
My friend and I are so happy we got to meet Larry and Joanna and stay in their cozy home. They are both really lovely people and were very welcoming when we arrived. We got a lot of great, useful tips on where to go and what to see around Austin; we really enjoyed it when Larry took us to a local restaurant and then showed us some sights! The room we stayed in was very nice, clean and comfortable with inspiring art pieces on the walls and shelves filled with interesting books. It was lovely to have breakfast in their cosy kitchen, sipping on Joanna's homemade, delicious juice while looking out on the pretty garden. The house is in a safe and friendly neighborhood with walking distance from downtown. Larry and Joanna are fantastic hosts, we hope to stay with them again sometime!
Larry and Joanna are wonderful hosts. We had a great experience staying in their home. They were very accommodating and I really appreciated all of the toiletries that they had on hand.
