Description

The space

Villa Marullo is located in the cliff of Isabela with a spectacular view to the sea. It is a one bedroom (two story ) cottage with fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. You can relax in this charming house and enjoy the breathtaking ocean view while watching the sunset in a hammock, the swell, or the whales during Jan-March. You'll wake up by the sound of the waves in your room. Newly built Bar-B-Q for those who prefer outdoor cooking. There is a TV (with Netflix and DVD) to watch movies at night. The house can be rent alone, or it can be rented with Villa Mar Afuera and/or Villa Candela (studios) located in the same premises but independently. Special prices are available.

Vacations are to enjoy new places, company, rest, and connect with your inner spirit but if you must need to stay in touch or work during them, then Wifi an Ethernet cable are available.

It is the perfect spot where you can drive to the nearby famous worldwide surf beaches since they are just a few minutes away as well as from the Aguadilla's airport. The town is closed by and there are numerous restaurants nearby.

Isabela has a lot to offer: you can horseback ride along the beach, surf, snorkeling, sightseeing, sky ride along the coast, or just lay in the beach getting a tan or read a book under a palm tree.

You can also go to underground caves in Camuy, to the Zoo in Mayaguez, hike in Guajataca's forest, see the largest radio telescope in the world (Arecibo), visit coffee plantations in the nearby towns (Utuado, Adjuntas, etc) or just sightseeing the different towns around Isabela.

Please note that renting a car is highly advisable (and really necessary) in order to get to these beaches and to explore the island.

NOTE: The house is not at the beach, nor is walking distance. It is a 5 minute drive to the nearest beach.

ROOM TAX INCLUDED.

It was exactly what we were looking. A relaxing beautiful place with excellent views and the host was available when we needed her. I'll recommend it and stay again.

This was our second stay at this AirBnB and it was just as incredible as the first time. Very quiet and beautiful. We will definitely visit Loly's place again.

This is not a bad place to stay, especially when you consider the limited options in the area. But we did not have a great stay based on our expectations. It is not as secluded as it appears in the photos, there are two other rentals alongside this one and houses on either side. Plus we had workers coming into the locked gates to take equipment out of the shed during the first day there, which is certainly not what we were expecting to see. Also, you should know that the views from the house, in addition to the water, include an abandoned hotel that is not nearly as romantic as it may sound and a commercial site of some sort that may be a power plant but either way is a complete eyesore. It is not expensive and perhaps I should have known better, but I did feel like it was misrepresented based on my comments above.

Response from Loly:
I am sorry, Charles, that your stay at Marullo was not what you expected. Villa Marullo is located on a cliff overlooking the sea and shares the premises (1 acre of land) with two other smaller houses, Mar Afuera and Candela, as it is clearly stated in the description. It does not state that the house is in a secluded area, although most of the guests feel it is very close to be so. There is no abandoned hotel near the surroundings or at sight from the house; only a residential apartment building close to the beach, far from being abandoned or an eyesore. We try our most to keep the privacy of our guests as any other hospitality complex does, but there are unavoidable people that have to come in, such as housekeeping to any other vacant room/villa, gardener or a technician coming into the premises to fix something, as it was this time with the washer machine we keep in the shed at the entrance of the lot, far away from the premises (about 300 feet away from the house). Isabela has a lot of accommodations, from a luxury hotel (Royal Isabela) to shared rooms. Every guest should do their homework searching in the web and choosing what better fits their likes and budget before making a reservation.

My two girlfriends and I had a short, relaxing stay at Villa Marullo. A little less than a week before our stay Loly sent me an e-mail with detailed directions and other helpful information for us to check-in with ease. We loved being able to have all the windows open since they were screened to keep bugs out. Sitting outside on the porch in the evening was a nice addition as well. Villa Marullo is a charming and cozy home perfect for a group of friends or small family. I would definitely recommend it others!

Loly's home is amazing! What an incredible find. It was hard to leave. We will miss the early mornings, drinking coffee on the porch watching the waves crash! Paradise!

We had a wonderful stay. If you need to get a little work done while you are away, you will still feel 100% on vacation here. BBQ in, view the ocean, and listen to the birds chirp. Lots of beautiful beaches are also within a short drive.
