Interaction with Guests
We may be present during your stay, however we prefer to leave guests to themselves so they can come and go as they please. If you have any questions about the area, we are happy to help.
Forestville is a small town, but boasts several excellent restaurants, including Twist, Canetti Roadhouse, Backyard, and the Farmhouse Restaurant. Be sure to check out Nightingale Bakery for some of the best bread in Sonoma County. Some of our favorite local attractions include Russian River, where you can play at the beach or rent a canoe; Armstrong Redwoods and nearby Guerneville; the stunning Sonoma Coast; and Healdsburg's excellent wineries, about 20 minutes away.
We recommend a car for exploring the area.

We had a wonderful time at Sarah's and the room and location are beautiful. While we didn't meet Sarah in person, she made us feel very welcome and at home and responded to all our questions right away. I really liked how comfortable and private this Air B&B is and the location is ideal for easy access to wineries and Armstrong Redwoods State park for spectacular views. We really enjoyed walking around the quaint town of Forestville and spending time on the Russian River. I highly recommend this Air B & B for a romantic get-a-way or a peaceful stay in nature. Thank you Sarah!
Sarah's forest retreat was as displayed if not better. Waking up to blues on a record player in nature doesn't get any better. Coffee maker, bathroom essentials, & clean linens. Simple, but all you need. The door can be a bit finicky when you try and unlock it, but after a good, hard push you'll get it open. I left my ring behind and Sarah was nice enough to to coordinate with me to get it back. Thanks so much for a great stay!!!!
We really enjoyed our stay in Forestville. The room was clean and as described. It felt very private. Quiety yet convenient location only a 5 minute walk from the commercial area. Fun vinyl collection to explore. Sarah was very accommodating. We asked her for a corkscrew rather late and she immediately brought one! Thanks for your hospitality, Sarah!
Thanks to Sarah for making my week very pleasant. The room is clean, pleasant and just what I wanted and what was presented in her description. Off street parking, very quiet, small but not cramped. Good shower and although there was no TV (a plus for me), there is wi-fi available with sign on instructions and a old, cool 33 1/3 record player with 70's R and R and great blues/jazz records. I will stay there again.
This place was really easy to check in, and a pretty cool location. The place had its own double door entrance and private bath; it felt like a nice little studio apartment. There was a record player with was a nice touch to the space.
She allowed pets which was really nice when you are traveling with your buddies.
Overall I was really happy with our stay. Only thing I would say is that is smelt a little humid in the space and at night we heard some critters scratching around. But I guess since of its foresty location, it comes with the territory.
The room was just as pictured--very cute and peaceful. The bed was comfortable, and it was really fun listening to a couple of records before I went to sleep. I didn't see Sarah, but arrival and entry were easy. My only concern was that there was no screen on the window, but there didn't seem to be too many bugs or moths, so it didn't wind up being a problem. Also, the room has a bit of a musty smell. Even so, I enjoyed my stay.
We stayed at Sarah's on a stopover before a north CA coast road trip. After a weekend in San Francisco, it was a simple and charming place to regroup. We never met Sarah but did meet her friendly grey cat. The instructions to get into the space were easy and the room was exactly as depicted. We have a family member in the area and when we are back to visit we'd certainly want to stay here again.
I live with my husband in gorgeous West Sonoma County, CA. We love camping, hanging out with our dog and cat, international travel and adventure.
