A fantastic Mill Valley two bedroom home which gets loads of natural light. Relax in the privacy of our garden, or have fun playing some ping pong. Indoors enjoy spacious open plan living. Great location for gorgeous hikes and beautiful biking.
The reason we love this home is the feeling of being secluded while still being close to everything you might want. The center of Mill Valley, filled with restaurants, a movie theater, etc, is just two miles away. Tennis courts at the nearby high school are a 2 min walk away and for those who like to bike, the Mill Valley bike path is only a few minutes ride away.
As the property is filled with trees and surrounded by hedges the place feels very private. The two bedroom place comfortably sleeps four people with a king size bed in one bedroom and a sofa bed in the other. With two couches in the living room there is space for two more guests.
In the kitchen enjoy all the amenities any good cook would love, fantastic knives, gas range, dual oven, kitchen aid mixer and stainless steel pots and pans. We also have a Gaggia espresso machine, which is simple to use and makes great coffee.
The HD TV is set up with cable, including HBO and we also have an Apple TV / Xbox 360 you can enjoy.
We would like you to enjoy our home as we do and are happy for you to have full access, we just ask that you respect our home and treat it the same way you would treat your own. Feel free to use items in the kitchen etc. however any wine in the storage room are sadly off limits.
Interaction with Guests
As this is our home, we only list it when we will be out of town. However we love this area, and are more than happy to share recommendations, and will happily provide all that we can when making the booking with you.
One of the great things about the Mill Valley location is how close it is to San Francisco, however you are surrounded by nature and redwood trees. From downtown Mill Valley you can hike the famous Dipsea trial through Mount Tam to Stinston Beach, enjoy Tam state park, or try your luck surfing at Rodeo beach. There are many fantastic tasty restaurants in town and the surrounding area as well.
Or if you want to go further afield to explore, its about a 45 minute drive to wine country in Sonoma or Napa, or to the Point Reyes National Seashore.
The Marin Airporter (which services SFO only) is a terrific, luxury bus shuttle from the airport. It will take you to the nearby Manzanita stop, and they will even arrange taxi service to the house (for an additional fee, which shouldn't be much as our home is close by). Getting a taxi from the airport will be the fastest and depending on the time of day will take about 40mins.
Getting around the North Bay is best with a car (as there's so many areas to explore) and our house comes with parking that will allow for two cars.
When you want to travel into San Francisco, there are a number of options: Ferry service from Sausalito or Larkspur is a 10-minute drive, depending on time of day. Then there is the Golden Gate Transport bus stop which is a 10 minute walk away, or if you want to drive the HW 101 is very easy to access and driving will take about 15 minutes to get onto the Golden Gate Bridge and into San Francisco.
If you enjoying trial runs, hikes, biking (mountain or road), then mill valley is it! There are so many places to explore on Mount Tam (which is a 5 min drive or 10min bike away) and the surrounding area, such as Tennessee Valley. We live extremely close to the bike path which will take you to Sausalito.
Other Things to Note
There is a fish tank for you to enjoy but without any of the hassle. We'll make sure the fish are taken care of and fed so you don't have to worry about that.
Please enjoy our home, but treat it as you would your own. We have welcoming neighbors and ask that you respect them too. We only have a few house rules; this is a no smoking household and we do not allow meat in the house (seafood is fine).
We also generally don't wear shoes in the house (especially not in the bedrooms) and we'd really appreciate it if you could do the same. Thanks!
This compact comfortable home is an ideal spot if you like to cook, appreciate clean and tasteful interior design, enjoy natural light, and want a truly uplifting place to stay on a visit to San Francisco, the north coast, or Spirit Rock Meditation Center in Woodacre. We felt absolutely at home and Amy was prompt with answers to our questions. A dream experience all around.
Amy was great for taking us last minute. We had so much fun staying in a house compared to a hotel. Her house is really cute, filled with tons of nice art and books. The perking is right in front of the house - so convenient. She left us some wine and sparking cider - nice touch. I felt like I was staying in a friends house and it was very comfortable. Loved Mill Valley as well!
Great host. Check in was easy, the house clean and lovely. Great location for a trip to Marin.
staying at Amy's place was great, beautiful sunny home in a quiet neighborhood hill and only a few miles outside san Francisco. I and my parents have enjoyed staying at her place. Amy was very accommodating providing everything I guest may need in a home.
My family and I had a wonderful time at this house. The beds were super comfortable, and the location is really great. Amy and Ish are amazing at returning questions. Our family highly recommends their wonderful home.
Amy was both responsive and professional. Her place was as described and located close to Mill Valley center.
Amy was great! She was super responsive and really really really helpful. She mostly preempted my questions if I had any, left us a nice bottle of wine (for my wife's birthday), and even sent us a note in advance about the weird noise that the refrigerator was making. The house was precisely as pictured -- beautiful, perfect location, tidy, and well-appointed. A GREAT getaway, and Amy was a great hostess, in abstentia.

I'm from London originally, but have now lived in San Francisco for six years and I'm loving it. I'm a market researcher which means I'm often travelling somewhere and talking to people about various products. Luckily my husband also likes to travel and we'll try and go to a new place each year. We love exploring new places (last trip was to Peru which was incredible), eating good food and spend time with friends.
I'm a big fan of getting outdoors and doing any type of sport, tennis, running, cycling, horse riding, hiking. San Francisco is such an amazing place for any of the above!
I'm at the point in my life where catching up with friends, spending quality time with them (often over a glass of wine and good food) is perfect.
I look forward to meeting new people through airbnb and getting to hear about their stories, travels etc.
