About this listing
I rent a bedroom in my apartment. I am also living here.
This is a double bedroom looking out onto planted terrace. This calm two bedroomed apartment is at the end of a small lane which is 3 minutes from the sea behind the Palais de la Mediterranee in the centre of Nice. The windows are south, east and west facing. The terrace is large with two tables for outdoor eating / activities. There is wifi access.
As I have studied the history of European painting, if any guest wishes to be accompanied around any of the many museums and places of historical interest in Nice and/or the surroundings, it would be my pleasure. I enjoy entertaining so there is a good chance of meeting a few locals. I am an english / art teacher if anyone should need any lessons, also in basic french. I will be happy to be your host and am willing to give you any advice/information you should require.
Everywhere but my bedroom. I especially recommend the terrace which remains cool and leafy throughout the summer.
It is a very sought after area in Nice, so close to the sea and the promm enade with a vast range of restaurants, cafés and shops of all sorts. There are beautiful boutiques nearby on rue Longchamps, Alphonse Karr and Paradis.
The tram which goes through Nice is 5 mins away on Palce Masséna. For transport towards the west - Cannes, Vence, Grasse the buses 94, 200 and 500 are to be found near Parc Albert 1°, 5 mins away. The 100 bus going along the beautiful Riviera coast: Beaulieu, Monaco, Menton is 25 mins away. A walk through le Parc du Paillon will bring you there. The stop is between the theatre and the Modern Art Museum. You could also get to the stop by tram.
I appreciate it when guests take off their shoes while in the apartment. After taking a shower they use the windscreen-wiper to clean off the water droplets. It is only when guests stay a week or more that they have access to the washing machine otherwise there are basins for washing clothes by hand. I normally turn off wifi during the night between midnight and 7.30am. unless exceptionally it needs to be used during that time range.
Fiona is very charming and very helpful during my stay. The room is a bit stuffy and hot but Fiona offered a fan to help with the ventilation of the room. Her whole apartment is tastefully decorated. It was a very nice stay with Fiona.
Thanks for all the arrangement and advice from Fiona. She's is a really kind and nice lady. We were happy to stay in an artistic apartment and chat together.
Fiona is such a beautiful ,artistic and welcoming host! There is a lot of cute little rocks painted by her in her home which is so lovely! We really like her apartment. But we feel a little bit hot in the bedroom;-)because this summer in Nice is so hot
Highly recommend. Fiona warmly welcomed us into her home and went above and beyond to take great care of us. Her home is beautiful and perfectly located. If we are to come to Nice again we will definitely stay with Fiona.
The location was amazing - literally a 3 minute walk to the Promenade and the Mediterranean. Fiona is a helpful (and beautiful) host who tried to stay out of our way. Her amazing artwork covers the walls.
The one reason I would not return is that the place is very very cluttered. There was no place to put anything away. Others might not mind it but I felt uncomfortable and a little phobic. But we were out almost the whole time anyway so we had a great stay in Nice.
Flat is nice decorated, except it is to small, and a little hot in the room if do not open the door and window to sleep. But really good location to the city center and beach .
Fiona is a lovely and a very kind person ! As a host she was very helpful and understanding. Her appartment is lively and artistic, filled with her beautiful artworks. Everything was nice, comfortable and clean. The room is big and offers a sense of privacy. I really enjoyed staying in her apartment and having the opportunity to meet her.
About the Host, Fiona
Artiste d'images et de mots j'aime l'idée de partager de bons expériences. Je fais partie d'un cineclub et un cercle de lecteurs, et m'amuse bien avec les musées, les voyages en bus ou train, les cafés et promenades au bord de la mer.
