MORE INFORMATION ABOUT ZELENIKA
Zelenika is a little village close to Herzeg Novi in Boka Kotorska Bay in Montenegro. At that time first hotel in Montenegro was build in Zelenika and it meant beginning of modern tourisms in Herzeg Novi.
Zelenika is a picturesque village which offers a quiet alternative to mass tourism in surrounded places.
Zelenika was established 100 years ago as southeast port and railway station and had at that time immense role in the economy and trade of Montenegro.
the old railway station building is still preserved as well as some other building. The railroad was disassembled in 70's and at the place of old railroads PET DANICA WALKWAY was built.
PET DANICA WALKWAY
It extends along the seashore from Zelenika to Igalo, along the tracks of a former railroad and is 8 km long. Due to its proximity of the sea, extraordinary flora and its effects on one’s body, this Walkway is very often called the »Path of Health«.
Nicest beach in Zelenika is Lalovina where you can enjoy sunbathing until late evening hours. Apart from surrounding places (Meljine, Savina) you can also take boat trip to Luštica peninsula, which lies opposite to the town. Popular Luštica peninsula beach sites include Dobreč, Žanjic and Mirište (or Rose). Rose is an old fisherman village, now days known as place where film and theatre actors are having holidays.
The Gulf of Kotor Boka Kotorska in western Montenegro, is a winding bay on the Adriatic Sea. The gulf, sometimes called Europe's southernmost fjord, is in fact a submerged river canyon of the disintegrated Bokelj River which used to run from the high mountain plateaus of Mount Orjen. It is an important tourist attraction in Montenegro.
The gulf has been inhabited since antiquity and has well preserved medieval towns. The picturesque towns of Kotor, Risan, Perast and Herceg Novi are - along with their natural surroundings - major tourist attractions.
The religious heritage of the land around the gulf — its numerous churches and monasteries — makes it one of the major pilgrimage sites of the whole region.

We enjoyed our stay very much! Montenegro is a beautiful place!
The host (Branka) was very nice and helpful, no problems at all.
The apartment is clean, lots of towels and sheets and its large enough for 5 persons.
The sea is the cleanest we've seen so far - of course the seabed is rocky, but thats the price you have to pay for the cleanness. I personally had no problems with it :-)
The food is magical (if you like meat :-) There is a great small family grill restaurant nearby called "Pečenjara Jaro". The owner Jaro and his wife Diana are very friendly and the grilled meat Jaro cooks is just over the top magnificent!
My children and I stayed in this apartment for two weeks this summer. We loved the cleanliness of it and the homey feel. The apartment is new and has only been occasionally used by family members, and now guests. It has all the amenities and simple cooking can be done.
The owner, the most kind, generous and thoughtful lady, was always there to help us with something we needed. She proved invaluable many times during our stay and we are very grateful to her for all she has done for us.
Location-wise the flat is about 500m from the sea. The road that leads to it is relatively quiet, but nonetheless high degree of caution is necessary at all times as many Montenegrin drivers are reckless.
There're a few restaurants within easy reach, Moretto being the cleanest, most sophisticated and with good food. There's a small grill place right on the road that leads to the sea and a lovely pizzeria a bit further where you can sit outside.
A few supermarkets, convenience stores, a hard-ware store are all within walking distance.
There are couple lovely beaches within 5-10 min walk from the flat. However, the most beautiful, rocky beach is in Melnije, about 15 min walk. There starts a pedestrian sea-front walk that leads all the way to Igalo. It's amazingly beautiful, and I recommend you do it either in the early morning or in the evening when it's less hot and there are fewer people.
All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and think this apartment was good value for money.
I live in Montenegro even though I have travelled all around the world. I own this flat in Zelenica, a great holiday location for a family of four willing to discover the Kotor bay!
