If you are looking to be close to The City and all its amazing landmarks --for an affordable price-- this is the place for you!! Mine is a small apartment in Astoria/Long Island City just 10 minutes from Manhattan.
You'll feel free at my home.
This room can be rented in conjunction with my other property to have the whole apartment at your disposition (calendar permitting).
Please keep in mind that you won't find a luxurious place, this is small, clean, comfortable apartment but "NOT A HOTEL".
Visitors are not allowed in the room, you can use the dining room for that.
You may have to share a bathroom with other guests (Max 2, usually couples). Depending if the other room is rented. So please be extremely mindful when using the bathroom time wise talking.
PLEASE CLEAN AFTER YOURSELF, nobody wants the "blue print" from other people, pick up your own hair in the bathtub and look after you when using the toilet. Leave the hand towel well placed.
I offer clean towels, sheets and products for personal hygiene, including body lotion and hair dryer.
I am very flexible with the time you check in and out, you can feel at home, and come and go as you please, finally New York is open for you 24 hours!
If I am available, I can pick you up and drop you off at the airports for $25 (LaGuardia), and $30 (JFK), each way.
The subway lines R and M run 24 hours and are just 3 blocks away!
There are tons of good restaurants (718 Restaurant, Grand Cafe, Ovelia, Il Bambino) and bars near by like the Bohemian Hall & Beer Garden or the Studio Square Beer Garden, in one of the most famous neighborhoods in NY.
The museum of Moving Image is very close, the Kauffman Studios and the great Astoria Park with amazing views of the city. A lot of places to go shopping. Parking is easy. Long Island City with its satellite MOMA PS1 museum, the iconic Graffiti Five Points, and the water taxi are just 15 minutes away.
JFK airport is 20 minutes from home and LaGuardia just 10 by car! (traffic permitting).
NO SMOKING, NOT EVEN NEXT TO THE WINDOWS. Nobody wants to stay at an apartment that smells like tobacco, and it the worse smell to get rid off.
DO NOT place your wet towels on the bed. There is hangers behind the doors, in your bedroom and in the bathroom.
Please, please be mindful about other guests in the kitchen and SPECIALLY in the restroom, your pleasant stay depends a lot on this. Take short showers and CLEAN AFTER YOURSELF. Please pick up your hair from the bathtub, and check the toilet and sink after using them, placed the hand towel properly.
Please take shoes off during late hours for respect to our neighbors.
Please be very careful with the keys, if you brake one there will be a charge of $5, (and you will stay out in the street for a long time until we rescue you).
Everything was exactly as Yusnier said it would be. Getting the keys from him was effortless, and the apartment was great. The bed was clean and more comfortable than expected, and the sheets were very soft. The apartment itself was surprisingly quiet for NYC too. Great place to stay; I would definitely recommend.
I always enjoy my stay at Yusnier s place and this time was excellent as always. Great. Space and location in Astoria
Yusnier's place is cozy and clean, and it offered everything needed. Yusnier is very friendly and helpful. Location is great. You can find restaurants, laundries, Rite Aid, bars in walking distance. Couple mins away from subway, very convenient. We drove for first two days, and street parking is easy and free. Safe neighborhood.
Yusnier's apartment was clean and the bed was very comfortable. He responded right away when we needed assistance with the WiFi. The location was handy for accessing Manhattan. Had we known how close it was to LaGuardia, we would have flown into that airport instead of JFK. Be prepared for early morning street noise from garbage collection trucks but this is NYC after all. The apartment is in an older walk-up tenement building with marble treads on the narrow stairway - charming in its own way. The area has many South and Central American restaurants. Villa Brasil around the corner offers a traditional Brazilian by-weight buffet and churrasco. What a treat! Lite Bites at Steinway and Broadway has full breakfast for $5.50. The area felt really safe. The apartment was serviceable for exploring NYC for the 8 days we were there. Since we were new to NYC and the transit system, it would have been helpful to have had SPECIFIC public transit instructions from the airport. There was a much shorter route to the apartment than we took. Perhaps your listing or booking sheet could include the best way to reach the apartment from all three major airports.
The apartment was overall in the prescribed condition. It is in a good neighbourhood from where it is possible to reach Manhatten quickly but that has also nice spots to offer.
Unfortunately Yusnier seems not to like answering on requests if it does not promise financial advantages which means that he only answers on booking requests quickly but not at all on any other questions for help. So he was not really helpful. We did not meet him in person.
Yusnier was very welcoming and easy to work with. Everything was as expected. I was a little familiar with Astoria and the location was not a surprise to me. The place was fairly close to the subway and also close to the main street on Astoria. Easy to get to the city. The place was nice, clean, had everything we needed.
