  • My wife and I stayed for 2 weeks and thoroughly enjoyed the location and the facilities available. We had a large bedroom, a Living/Dining area and washroom for our own use whilst we shared the Kitchen and shower with our live-in hosts. Radford and Kirsten were very friendly and helpful and their 2 friendly dogs were an attraction for our young grand-daughter who visited. The family pets were well trained and easy to live with.

Only a few minutes walk from the Yarraville Village shopping area, the location is quiet and ideal for either shop browsing, eating out or exploring the area on foot. It is also close to the CBD and the train station is right in the centre. The village has a great variety of shops and restaurants and we enjoyed checking out what it has to offer. We were able park our car in the street outside the house without any trouble.

We thought the accommodation was good value and we would thoroughly recommend it to anyone wanting comfortable accommodation and who was OK with sharing some of the facilities with the hosts.

  • I had a couple from Holland staying with me and as they were moving on to Melbourne, I recommended they stay with Radford. He went out of his way to ensure the couple had his phone number and contact details, and was most obliging in every possible way. I will definitely recommend Radford to anyone wishing to stay in Melbourne. Cheers Radford, and thanks for everything.

  • This was our first experience with airbnb and it could not have been better! Accommodation was really good, very close to Yarraville which is a lovely little village with everything you could want. The house is also within minutes walking distance of Yarraville train station which provides easy access to the city. Radford and Kirsten were great hosts, really friendly and helpful and even provided maps and info on the local area and transport, which we found extremely helpful. Overall we had a wonderful time and we would highly recommend staying here to anyone.

  • We spent a very enjoyable four days with Radford and Kirsten. The other reviews provide perspectives very similar to our experience; pleasant conversations with our thoughtful hosts, large bedroom and living area, easy commute via train to Melbourne CBD, quiet neighborhood with a variety of shops, bars & restaurants within a short walk, friendly dogs, & fast internet. Overall, a great experience.....

  • We enjoyed our stay at Radfords home in Yarraville very much. He and his wife Kirsten were great hosts. We had delightful conversations and because of this, we (two Germans on vacation) learned a lot about the way of life in Australia and specially in Melbourne. The rooms are absolutly comfortable and charming. Specially the neighborhood Yarraville is the place to stay for visiting Melbourne: you got nice restaurants, fine bakeries and it was like a little town for it´s own. Travelling from Yarraville to Melbourne was quite easy and pretty quick. The two dogs Falko and Charly gave us the complete feel of home, because we missed our own animals at home in Germany.

  • Thank you Radford and Kirsten for a great stay. Would have loved to see the house and surroundings in the daytime as our stay was rather short. Loved the dogs and would recommend the stay to others. Good pillows and comfy bed.

  • Very nice bedroom, you have a lot of space to use for you. you have your own living room, bathroom. the house is (email hidden). 5 min to walk from shops and bars(breakfest), the train station is also 5 min to walk.
i was there for only a short stay but it was a good stay!

  • It was a really lovely stay at Radfords' place. The room was spacious with a comfy bed, good location - close to the train station and 15 mins away from Melbournes CBD. The hosts were really nice people - helpful with traveling advices, and friendly to have a chat later in the evening.
The dogs were extremely lovely too :)
I can recommend Radfords place without hesitation :)

  • Radford and his wife were super hosts. They made us feel really welcome in Melbourne and it was a pleasure to share their beautiful house for the weekend. The house is clean, spacious and in a great location. You could almost come just to Yarraville and stay there for the weekend with the excellent local cafes, eateries and sun cinema. Still - getting into Melbourne is easy and we had a super time. Thanks guys - we'll be back!

About
My wife and I are well travelled having been through Africa, Indonesia, Thailand and all around Australia. Our last was a road trip from Chicago to LA over the course of a month - we had a great time! It was in the States that we discovered AirBNB and had a great stay with a host that prompted us to put our spare room on here. Most of our bigger trips have been on a tight budget, but we also like to travel on weekends sometimes and may splurge a little then. We both enjoy music, the arts and sports. Oh and nice food & wine too! Staying here you will be amazed at the space you have and we will supply you with a key to come and go as you please. We also really love Melbourne, so we are more than happy to assist with your travel plans if you are looking for interesting things to do on any budget.
