An affordable property located in the peaceful part of Braddon, but a stone's throw from the buzz of Lonsdale Street and a walk to the City, including the bus interchange. The Australian War Memorial is only 2 km away.
This apartment is in one of the best locations to stay when visiting Canberra. It is located in an older apartment complex but is comfortable and quiet. There are board games and a guitar for the evenings.
The apartment is fully equipped with everything you need for a home away from home including washing machine, dryer and dishwasher. It easily accommodates 4 people, but sleeps 5 - 6. Bedding configuration is: one queen in the master bedroom, a double bed in the second bedroom and a double futon sofa in the living room.
There is a swimming pool in the apartment which you are welcome to use. House rules do not allow drinking in the pool area or smoking in common areas.
Happy to leave you to your own devices and respect your privacy. However, we can give you advice about what to see and do while you are in Canberra as we have lived here for many years.
Braddon has become the place to be in Canberra. Even the New York Times recently gushed about Lonsdale Street, which is just across the park. There are hundreds of cool restaurants and some unique shops. The City is within easy walking distance and so is the bus interchange.
Dickson with its great restaurants is a short drive as are all the major tourist attractions, including the War Memorial. If you intend to do the city by bike or on foot (which I recommend) this apartment is the place to stay!
There is an official parking space for your car underneath the building. There is often also visitor parking available. It is about ten minutes walk from the front door to the heart of Canberra's Civic which has the bus interchange. The ANU is also a bike ride away (a lot of students live in Braddon). There is also a storage cage to keep bikes if you want to BYOB and use Canberra's vast bike lane network. Belconnen is also a short drive.
No smoking please in the apartment or in the walkways or common areas. No pets are permitted under house rules. Keep in mind that normal people live here (just like we once did) and be respectful, particularly with noise levels after 10:00 PM. Strictly no loud parties - just walk across the park and party to your hearts content on Lonsdale Street!
Bill and Jenny made it very easy for us on our recent stay in their Airbnb, whilst my colleague and I attended a conference for 6 days.
It was exactly as described and is in a great location. A wonderful place to stay in Canberra, very central and an easy walk to enjoy a meal in nearby restaurants and eateries. Would thoroughly recommend this Airbnb (and today, did so!) Thanks for the chocolate:)
Bill and Jenny's apartment was ideally located for us during our action-packed visit to Canberra. They thoughtfully provided food basics such as milk, tea, coffee, eggs and more. Bill was responsive in his communications and the apartment was clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed staying in their flat.
Bill has been an excellent host. He was prompt in his arrangements. His apartment was well-maintained and it was really comfortable to live in. The amenities were functioning well and there were no issues. The neighbourhood was peaceful and my family loved taking a stroll around the park. Overall, the experience was fantastic and I would recommend it to my friends and families.
Bill and Jenny made us very welcome and Jen met us in person at the apartment to give us the keys. The apartment was as described but also exceeded my expectations. Delightfully furnished; everything in working order; balcony facing on to small park. Centrally located within easy reach of shops and restaurants. I feel very lucky to have stayed in such a nice place and would hope to book it again if making another trip to Canberra.

The unit was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The host was accommodating when we requested an additional set of keys. The chocolate was appreciated, thank you.
We had a great weekend in Canberra. Bill met us at the unit and gave us the key and some information. Unit is in a great location, close to everything, we walked into Civic. Balcony overlooks a park. If we go back to Canberra for a longer holiday, I would be happy to stay here again.
Bill and Jenny were very friendly - Jenny showed us around the apartment, which was clean and comfortable, very conveniently located for Central Canberra. The apartment was well equipped and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed our three days there.

We are a normal family who enjoy helping others discover and appreciate all the wonders that Canberra has to offer.
Happy to leave you to your own devices, or give you some tips. I do like a bush walk at Mt Ainslie and if you want to see some kangaroos in the wild, I am happy to take you there on any weekend.

The views from the top of Mt Ainslie are stunning. Also, at a good pace you can walk to the top of Mt Ainslie from the apartment in under 1 hour. Let me know if you want to take a guided walk.Majura ACT 2609
