  • We spent two days in Mt. Tabor and regret that we could not stay longer. Dina was a gracious host and the apartment was a perfect base for us to explore Portland. There's plenty to do in the Mt. Tabor neighborhood (amazing restaurants, walk up Mt. Tabor, cool shops, etc) and if you're interested in visiting downtown Portland it's very easy to get to from here. The apartment is clean, cozy, and equipped with everything you need. We highly recommend staying here. Thanks for your hospitality Dina!

  • I enjoyed staying here so much I booked again!
Can't go wrong with the neighbourhood and host.

  • Feel very lucky to have booked this place for our arrival in the USA! My 9 yr old and I are relocating to Portland from UK and needed somewhere safe and friendly for our first week. We landed in the perfect AirBnB. Dina and her family are extremely hospitable and made us feel so welcome. While getting over jet lag we didn't see them (key was left for us). Then later on Dina not only helped with schools but found a soccer camp for my homesick daughter which changed everything (she's not homesick now and having FUN!) The flat is spotlessly clean, stylish and very Eco. All new appliances and kitchen, full bathroom, plenty of hanging/storage space, outdoor sitting space...Everything you need in a beautiful, peaceful neighbourhood! Highly recommend this place and would definitely stay again, it's been a home from home.

  • Dina was a gracious host - always seeking to make my stay more comfortable. The accommodations were exactly as advertised. Dina has done a great job designing the studio so that it feels modern, clean and cosy. This is a perfect place to hideout for a few days and is located next to beautiful Mt. Tabor for some great walking and city views. There are also some great restaurants and bars within walking distance. I would definitely stay there again.

  • Neighborhood was very quaint and the local food was great! The host was friendly as well! The room was as described! I hadn't noticed there wasn't a tv listed but it forced to me stay out and enjoy the city later each night which really was a treat!

  • Dina's place was great. It is a clean basement studio in a great neighborhood. Our expectations were exceeded. Dina was helpful and responded quickly to questions. We had a really nice time there. I would definitely return.

  • Very clean with modern furnishings in a great location! Listing was as described and as expected, except the noise level from above is considerable. Host's young son jumps, stomps, and melts down on a regular basis directly above the bed. There doesn't seem to be any soundproofing between basement flat and host's kitchen. Hard way to wake up and we didn't have the ability to sleep in on vacation. No way to get an afternoon nap either because after school was worse. If you are going to Portland for work, or you sleep like the dead, this might no be a problem.

    Response from Dina:

Sorry to hear the noise was a problem for you. If you would have taken the time to read the reviews, you would have known ahead of time that it's not soundproof and you could have chosen accommodations that were a better fit. The bit about my son melting down regularly, however, is insensitive and IMO outright rude. You obviously do not have kids and seem to have little regard for the fact that this is our home.

  • We loved Dina's flat! The space was well thought out and ideal for our needs. It is in a wonderful neighborhood close to both the Belmont and Hawthorne districts and a just a short walk to Mt. Tabor. There is a delicious food cart pod only blocks away! And plenty of maps/bus schedules/travel guides in the apt. The bed was extremely comfortable and the basement kept cool during the warm day. Our interactions with Dina were few, but lovely. If you are looking for a great place to recharge in a great part of town I definitely recommend Dina's flat. It was great for us, and would be great for other travelers who are actively enjoying Portland during the day. The noise from upstairs didn't bother us (children playing, etc) and the lack of light wasn't an issue (as we didn't stay inside during the day). Dina's flat was super cute and exactly what we needed!

  • Awesome host! The place is in a great location. We didn't rent a car, and were very happy to find out there was a bus line a block away. The place was very clean and had plenty of light. The only draw backs for me were how low and firm the bed was, and that the noise from the home upstairs can be heard very well. Overall our stay here was a really great experience. We LOVED Portland!!

  • We had a great time staying at Dina's basement apartment. It was so clean, lovely and well equipped. It was a short walk to Mt. Tabor Park and close by to endless South East restaurants, bars and fun shops. Dina was super helpful and eager to answer any questions.
We had a great time in Portland!

I'm a creative professional and the mother of two fun-loving kids who has been living in Portland since 1995. After spending a decade in New York CIty, pursuing a film and video career, I was lured to this city by the natural beauty, lifestyle, arts & culture and the other like-minded folks who've made Portland their home. My time is spent juggling the joys and demands of work, my kids, my dog and good friends. I'm a creative and inquisitive soul who loves art and culture, outdoor adventure, good conversation and great friends. I adore this great city and look forward to sharing my intimate knowledge of Portland with airbnb travelers.
