Interaction with Guests
While I aim to be there when you arrive, this is not always possible, however there is always a trusted person here who will answer any questions you may have about the local area.
Leap is at the heart of West- Cork and has all the best things it has on offer close by! If you are into walking, swimming, surfing, sailing, cycling, food, history, music, or a good pint, this is the place to be. Do not miss out on a whale/dolphin watching trip, Droum Begg stone circle, Rineen woods where the fairies live, and a night time kayak! Unfortunately our local well known music venue ( Conollys of Leap) is closed at the moment due to renovation but will keep you updated, however, Clonakilty and Skibbereen are not far away where great music can be heard all through the year.
We are on the N71 just over an hours drive from Cork airport. The bus stop is about 2 minutes walk away ( time tables vary according to season) while you are here, walking, cycling or driving are your best options. But hey, you might not want to go anywhere and/or one of the locals might offer you a lift!
Other Things to Note
Leap has 3 pubs, 4 eateries, 1 shop/petrol station, a playground within a 10 minute walk, further but still within walking distance there are more pubs and eateries, an award winning lifestyle shop, a fish shop, a small supermarket and plenty more things that you will just have to discover when you get here. Most of all the locals are friendly.
"Beyond the Leap, Beyond the Law" we do not have many rules around here, but please do not smoke in the rooms and on check out day we would like your belonging out of the room by 12 noon, should you wish to hang out a bit longer we can store them after this time. Most of all,... please treat everyone with respect
Everything about this place is brilliant! The location is lovely - nice and quiet, very scenic and there's a great wee pub across the road. The accommodation is above a wee diner, which serves the best value food you'll come across. Our room was comfortable, spacious and quiet - couldn't recommend more highly!
Nice place on the road of Cork.
Confortable bedroom with a clean bathroom.
Good irish breakfast!
Good place to stop, clean and Ger is there for anything you may need. I would recommend that place!!
My husband, son (age 14) and myself had the best time in Gers in Leap (pronounced Lep we were quickly informed!), its a great spot for exploring west Cork, very relaxing spot, many gorgeous little towns everywhere you turn, Baltimore, Skibbereen, Clonakilty and Glandore were our favourites. Ger was very friendly and accommodating, rooms were spotless, shower didnt work when we arrived but when we told Ger he had someone fixing it in 5 minutes! Thats great service. We'll definitely be visiting again, we had 4 nights booked there and 2 in a luxury hotel in the city but we cancelled one of those nights to stay longer in Gers, we really didnt want to leave. Locals were super friendly and chatty, we felt very welcome. There was some noise from traffic and customers of Gers out the front but when the window was closed all was quiet so if you like to sleep with the window open then maybe ask for a back room. Absolutely no complaints, we needed to chill out and we definitely did that.
The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The welcome is friendly.
Great find on our Wild Atlantic Way adventure. Choice of rooms available when we arrived, opted for double with private en-suite facility. Comfortable facilities, clean crisp bed-linen, adequate pillows and good shower with towels provided. Breakfast was available next morning from 9:00 am at additional cost as shown in the description. Ger's is a treasure to visitors and locals alike with the local suppliers dropping off their fresh produce for sale in the shop. WiFi is as described and not guaranteed in the rooms but we were made very welcome to avail of it at the front of the premises. I would have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation to anyone.
