About this listing
Our home is your home. It's cozy, bright, colorful, and warm. Our 3 bedroom, 2 bath updated bungalow can accommodate the whole family with room to spare. Close to the French Quarter, downtown, and City Park, it's a perfect location for your vacation.
No New Orleans porch is complete without a swing. Spend a cool afternoon sipping your favorite drink on our large front porch.
Our three bedrooms have two beds, and we also own a very comfy queen size blow up matress. It's open and bright, colorful and homey. We know you'll love it as much as we do.
Interaction with Guests
We're fine with meeting you, or not. It's totally your choice. Since we do reside in the house, chances are if you're coming in, we're most likely already gone.
Our neighborhood is very family friendly. There are small restaurants within walking distance. We have a park a block away with a little league field. In the summer they host movie nights and bbqs. We love it because it's a suburb that doesn't feel like the burbs.
Yes there a several bus stops very close.
Other Things to Note
We do have 2 cats, a brother and sister named Goner and Stax. They're welbehaved and friendly, once they have chance to warm up to newcomers.
The house rules will be listed on the chalkboard in the kitchen. Just as a note, we will ask anyone staying more than 2 nights to feed the cats.
We had a perfect experience staying at this quaint, eclectic Gentilly home. Our hosts were out of town during our 1 night stay however they provided us with a list of recommendations concerning dining, bars and more. They also provided easy directions on key location and house care. The house is an easy 10 minute drive from most popular areas and places.
Staying in Kevin's house was such a great experience! We had 5 adults, a child, and a baby and we all managed to coexist without tripping over each other. Not to mention, the house is ADORABLE! Someone clearly has great taste on the decorating front. The neighborhood overall was very quiet, and whether driving or walking, neighbors would wave or say hello (which is not a thing where we live in Texas!) The front porch and swing got a lot of use and was my daughter's favorite place to just hang out. Also, within walking distance of a minimart and a playground. Location wise, just a few miles from most places that tourists want to go, the French Quarter etc. Taking a cab back to the house after a long night was about $15! Awesome! Although Kevin & Co were out of the area during our stay, getting in touch with him was easy and he was super helpful! We will surely be in touch when we go back to New Orleans :)
The host canceled this reservation 3 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We certainly appreciated having the chalkboard with the hosts special requests and FYI's. We also appreciated having fresh towels and sheets. The availability of Wi-fi was helpful for planning what to do and where to eat in the area. The photos of the home were accurate as was the description itself. The family has two cats and they preferred the bedrooms so all interior doors were kept open at all times. The three couples in our group were flexible with this request. The family home is definitely of one of a handful of well maintained homes on the block. There was a police presence over the weekend but we never felt unsafe. We had rental cars so we were able to access the airport, French Quarter, Cruise port, and downtown areas within 20 minutes and with ease. There is also a market and Walgreens about 5 minutes away from the home as well.
