About this listing

I fall in love 6 years ago with this house because of the view. It is breathtaking. So I have done all I can to keep the view even if you lay down on one of the bed on the top terrace. And of course breakfast there is a must during your stay.
this suite is unique. Don't look for untasty style, you won't find it in here ;-)
We made 2 different courtyards; if you look for a jungle, go to the fountain area; but if you search for simplicity, the pool area will welcome you.

The space

Situated in the historical medina of Marrakech, our Riad is an intimate and relaxed full service boutique hotel with only 6 suites and 2 standard bedroom all with private bathrooms, plus 2 living rooms and 2 winter gardens.

This Beldi Suite has an amazing ceiling, painted and sculpted, it shows itself the history of this country! It is on the 2nd US floor, facing a courtyard with a pool and an outside living room.

Our chef makes the most amazing dishes for B'fast, lunch and dinner. A traditional hammam and massage facility are also availables in-house for our guests. And a fitness room is also available, free of charge.

Guest access

2 courtyards, lounge areas, 3 terraces, 1 restaurant, 1 swimming pool, SPA, fitness room, boutique.

Interaction with guests

You are more than welcome if you need advices during your stay. That's my job!
The culture here is very different from occident so I understand if you need help. Usually when you arrive we welcome you with a fresh mint tea and it is then a good time to talk about the country, the people and how to enjoy the Medina during your stay.

The neighborhood

We live in an unique and safe area where lots of BnB have settled in between old moroccan families. The experience is amazing.
And we are in a walking distance from all the sites: Jardin Majorelle is 25mn walk, Place Jema el Fnaa is 20mn and all the area museums is 15mn. So no taxi needed. Just good feet and a map (that we provide for free).
And just around the corner (2mn walk), one of the best restaurant of the Medina will welcome you. Imagine an old palace from the 14th century.......

Getting around

You will find taxis and bus if you walk 5mn from the house. Otherwise please walk, it is the best way to enjoy the city.
There is also a parking nearby.

Other things to note

We will explain you how to bargain, how to walk around in the medina without getting lost and finally how to avoid getting sick! We want your stay as smooth as possible.

This riad functions as a fully services "Maison d'hotes" which french for a B&B. However the house has more services than a B&B as you can live here 24/7 without even leaving the house. We have a cook, a maid, a night guard. I also live here most of the time. When I am not here, you will probably see my mother. Therefore, you are in good hands.

For the food, apart from standard B'fast, it is best to tell our cook, your wishes in the morning, if you want to stay for lunch or dinner. Menu with price list for extras are available in your room.

For the private Spa, we will also need some hours to heat up the Hammam and book our team of local experts for the Hammam and Massage services.

For Transport, we have a very reliable chauffeur that can take you on smaller and longer trips. He also can pick you up on the airport and ensuring you find our hidden paradise in the medieval labyrinth.

Check-in and -out is managed flexible when possible. If otherwise not possible, 14:00 check-in and 11:00 check-out. You can of course stay the rest of the day if you have a late flight anyway, and we also have an extra bath if you need to refresh before taking off.

As the traditional houses in the medina are very intimate, we ask you to adapt your voice control accordingly. On the upper terrace, which has an amazing view, we also ask you to apply a discrete dress code in respect for our local neighbors and the Moroccan culture, e.g. sunbathing in bikini, no problem, but when walking around to enjoy the views, cover up.

All in all, we try to fulfill all your wishes, including live music and belly dancers, for that special evening, or support to negotiate in the Souk.

Couldn't have asked for a better stay in Marrakech. The Riad was incredible and way better in person. Getting there is a lot like entering a maze but that's the beauty in it. Jean was of tremendous help in navigating old Medina. If time permits to ever be in Marrakech again this would be the only place I would call home.

My husband and I travelled to Marrakesh for the first time at the end of September. We absolutely loved Riad 144 and will stay there again on our next trip. The furnishings are beautiful and well appointed. We had the pleasure of meeting Vivienne and Jean who are both extraordinarily gracious hosts offering helpful opinions on things to do and making arrangements for day trips, massages, hammam, restaurant reservations, etc. We highly recommend this Riad as it far exceeded our expectations.

I am living between Paris and Marrakech. For the past 10 years I have worked as Art Director in multinational agencies as well as working as steward for a company flying only to the most beautiful islands.

Being french of origin, and with 9 years of experience living in Africa (Madagascar and Cameroon), the past year has been devoted to make our Riad a home for us and any guests with the passion for Morocco and a relaxed life. The place has been created based on experiences from places all over the world in which we have travelled. We have tried to keep the best of everything we have seen..... up to you to come and judge.
