Situated in the historical medina of Marrakech, our Riad is an intimate and relaxed full service boutique hotel with only 4 suites and 1 standard bedroom all with private bathrooms, plus a living room and a winter garden. This Beldi Suite has an amazing ceiling, painted and sculpted, it shows itself the history of this country!
The large patio has a heated plunge pool under the lush palm trees. The terrace with 360 degrees view over the medina and the Atlas mountains is the perfect spot to catch the best sunset of Morocco.
Our cook makes the most amazing dishes for B'fast, lunch and dinner. A traditional hammam and massage facility is also available in-house for our guests. The owners and a team of 2 great local employees are there to take care of you!
The area, Sidi Ben Slimane is one of the oldest areas with narrow streets in which only donkey transport is possible. The area is also part of the UNESCO world heritage. In some minutes you are in the Souk and in 15 min at the famous Place Jamaa el Fnaa. Many museums are also in walking distance, including the gardens of Yves St. Laurent - Jardin Majorelle.
From the Airport we arrange transport for 150dh. It's only a 15 minutes ride and then a walk through the narrow streets to your quiet paradise.
This riad functions as a fully services "Maison d'hotes" which french for a B&B. However the house has more services than a B&B as you can live here 24/7 without even leaving the house. We have a cook, a maid, a night guard. I also live here most of the time. When I am not here you will probably see my mother. Therefore, you are in good hands.
For the food, apart from standard B'fast, it is best to tell Touria, our cook, your wishes in the morning, if you want to stay for lunch or dinner. Menu with price list for extras are available in your room.
For the private Spa, we will also need some hours to heat up the Hammam and book our team of local experts for the Hammam and Massage services.
For Transport, we have a very reliable chauffeur that can take you on smaller and longer trips. He also can pick you up on the airport and ensuring you find our hidden paradise in the medieval labyrinth. That costs you 150dh during the day, but is recommendable if you do not know Marrakech well.
Check-in and -out is managed flexible when possible. If otherwise not possible, 14:00 check-in and 11:00 check-out. You can of course stay the rest of the day if you have a late flight anyway, and we also have an extra bath if you need to refresh before taking off.
As the traditional houses in the medina are very intimate, we ask you to adapt your voice control accordingly. On the upper terrace, which has an amazing view, we also ask you to apply a discrete dress code in respect for our local neighbors and the Moroccan culture, e.g. sunbathing in bikini, no problem, but when walking around to enjoy the views, cover up.
All in all, we try to fulfill all your wishes, including live music and belly dancers, for that special evening, or support to negotiate in the Souk.
My husband and I travelled to Marrakesh for the first time at the end of September. We absolutely loved Riad 144 and will stay there again on our next trip. The furnishings are beautiful and well appointed. We had the pleasure of meeting Vivienne and Jean who are both extraordinarily gracious hosts offering helpful opinions on things to do and making arrangements for day trips, massages, hammam, restaurant reservations, etc. We highly recommend this Riad as it far exceeded our expectations.

I am living between Paris and Marrakech. For the past 10 years I have worked as Art Director in multinational agencies as well as working as steward for a company flying only to the most beautiful islands.
Being french of origin, and with 9 years of experience living in Africa (Madagascar and Cameroon), the past year has been devoted to make our Riad a home for us and any guests with the passion for Morocco and a relaxed life. The place has been created based on experiences from places all over the world in which we have travelled. We have tried to keep the best of everything we have seen..... up to you to come and judge.
