The annex is situated in the most beautiful area of Ireland, and is close to many historical sites, beaches, golf courses and bars and restaurants. We are just minutes from The Giants Causeway. The Causeway was created by a volcanic eruption some 50 to 60 million years ago, but local legends claim it was created by giants! The Causeways information centre explains the legend and will capture the imagination of children and adults alike! After visiting the information centre you can take a walk along the beautiful Northern Irish headland, play on the hexagonal lava columns, and then enjoy an ice cream in the sunshine.
Bushmills Whiskey Distillery is also just minutes from the annex. The Old Bushmills' Distillery provides guided tours where you can witness the 400 year old distilling process, and get a little sample at the end!
This area of Northern Ireland is a golfers paradise. There are several courses ranging from pitch and put to professional, and all benefit from beautiful coastal views, and stunning rolling Irish green hills.
After a busy day sight seeing, golfing and walking you can sample some of the finest cuisine Northern ireland has to offer. There are plenty of pubs in Coleraine, Bushmills, Portstewart and Portrush, that serve amazing, locally caught fish, proper Irish potatoes and locally made ice cream. One local treasure is Ramore Head Wine Bar, which not only serves delicious food, but also benefits from stunning views over the harbour and Irish Sea.
Bushmills area itself offers fine dining with many star rated eateries; we will have all this information at the smithy.
Please note that if you are traveling as a family (2 adults, 3 kids) we have a nightly rate of £99 if using just one bedroom and lounge....if you wish to book this please let me know and I will send you a special offer via the website function. So glad we stayed at the Causeway Smithy B&B on our trip to Bushmills! Great central location between the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, Giant’s Causeway and Dunluce Castle. Denise was very welcoming, warm and professional, and the breakfast was amazing! Denise even got me gluten free crumpets and bread, as I have an allergy. What a wonderful experience. Would definitely stay again next time we visit, and will highly recommend this B&B to friends and family! Thanks again for a great stay, Denise.
This B&B is perfectly located for visiting the Giant's Causeway area. The bedrooms have an amazing view across the field towards the ocean and are just a short 5 minute drive from Bushmills. The beds were comfortable and the showers were hot! In addition, Denise made delicious breakfasts both mornings we were there and even took care of some of our travel planning for the next portion of our trip. Great find!
A lovely warm welcome, a bedroom with a wonderful view and a great breakfast to start the day in a smashing part of the world, Wifi, private lounge area, tea and coffee on demand.. Getting the picture? A great find!
Denise is one of the most friendliest and warm hosts we have ever had. Her brekkies were amazing, and dinner recommendation superb. The room was super comfy and we had a great view of the scenery. Denise was friendly but also gave us our space. Would have loved to stay longer!
Denise ' s home with a view of the sea was perfect. Quiet, clean and comfortable. Denise was a great host providing us with a delicious breakfast and a perfect suggestion for a place to eat supper.
We had a lovely time staying at the Causeway Smithy with our adult son. Clean, comfortable and cosy, we couldn't have asked for nicer accommodation. We had a spacious bedroom each end of a shared lounge/dining room to which Denise brought a delicious and sustaining breakfast each morning.
Denise was a warm and gracious host. She gave us excellent tips and information on local walks, activities and places to dine, all of which helped make our stay interesting, relaxing and fun.
