The apartment is located on S.3rd & Bedford Avenue - which is the beginning of the popular Bedford Avenue Strip. It's in the quieter end of it so you will enjoy the benefits of this busy neighborhood in a quiet space.
You'll be half a block away from great restaurants, bars, shops, food markets, etc.
The apartment is 7 minutes away from the L train on the Bedford Avenue Stop, one stop to Manhattan and 5 minutes from Union Square. The L train will take you from the East side to the West side connecting you to all of the major subway lines in NYC.
It is also located 7 minutes away in the opposite direction from the J/M/Z lines. These lines will take to the center of the Lower East Side, Chinatown, City Hall, Wall Street, and Fulton Street which is a 7 minute walk from the South Street Seaport. The M train will take you directly into Midtown.

Although the building is rather old, the apartment is very fresh, warm and cozy and particularly clean.
The presence of Claire - the apartment manager - was helpful, cheerful and discreet.
The neighbourhood is safe, colorful and charming with a lot of cozy and popular places and restaurants
Yet the apartment is really close to Manhattan - the distance is even walkable through the Williamsburg bridge.
Disadvantages that one should have in mind is the 5 floors of stairs to get up there and that there is no sink in bathroom. It still works fine with the kitchen sink.
It was an overall very good place to stay!
Lulu was very easy to communicate with and very friendly. Claire her apartment manager gave us the instruction to get to the place. However, I have to admit that I don't understand all the positive reviews this place has had.
We pick up the keys and get to the apartment. The building is old which did not bother us, but there were 2 sketchy people at the entrance of the building rolling a joint. We get to the fifth, the door is halfway open and we just push the door and see that no one was there, except for a light in a room that was on; we thought it was Claire. But after 3 days, no one ever came out of that room and the light was on the whole time. A lot of different things in the apartment made us believe that no one actually lives there now as Lulu is in Kenya and Claire never showed up. Also, the set of keys that was given to us did not work and we could not lock the door of the apartment, which was again quite weird.
The apartment itself is clean and as advertised. Pictures were accurate and it was quite comfy. However, the heat at night was unbearable in that little room. There was no way of controlling the heat and sleeping 2 people in that tiny room made it a hot box. A fan was provided and helped a bit, but I ended up never sleeping in the bed because of the heat (slept on the couches or floor).
Aside from that, the location was great, so much to do around and never felt unsafe. We had a friend over for some wine and we felt great in the apartment. I liked the apartment ok, but for the same price last time I got something that was much better in terms of easiness of use and comfort. But again, it's NYC and as much as I love that city, standards are quite lower than other places I have seen or lived in. Communication is key and Lulu is great at that, but Claire a bit less and we were a bit left on our own not knowing much about how things worked in that apartment.
Thank you so much for the informative review and I truly do apologize that you were left to your own devices during your stay. Claire had sent you an email that I was copied on explaining that she had a family emergency and wouldn't be in the apartment during your stay. Based on previous reviews, it's clear that Claire does indeed live there and is super attentive to guests during their stays. It was so unfortunate that she had a family emergency and couldn't be there for you and we truly do apologize if you felt in any way uncomfortable.
We've never had a problem with the keys as we have the same two copies for every guest, so I'm also sorry that this may have been a bit confusing.
Thank you again for staying with us and again, I'm very sorry that your stay was not as pleasant as it has been for other guests.
We had an amazing stay at Lulu's apartment and such a good time! The flat is indeed very cosy, equipped with everything you need, quiet and very comfortable. Claire, the apartment manager, was very nice and helpful with everything. The area is up and coming, with lots of cafés, nightlife, cool shops, young people. The apartment is located between two subway stations, which are both easy to reach and both only one stop away from Manhattan. Thanks so much for a wonderful week!
Both Lulu (in Kenya) and Claire (in NY) were very concerned about our well-being in Brooklyn, which gave us a very reasuring feeling! Claire is very fun to hang out with and she recommended us the best brunch address in the neighbourhood! And the location of the appartment is just perfect. Very recommendable Airbnb place!
Me and my friend stayed in the Williamsburg department. Lulu wasn't there but her manager Claire was. Our experience there was lovely. The apartment is spacious and SUPER CLEAN! Even she let us use everything in the kitchen.
It also well located. Very Near Marcy Av metro station... super safe neighbourhood.
I totally recommend this apartment. Lulu and Cliare were very kind to us and helpful.
Thank you for letting us stay in your wonderfull apartment in Williamsburg! It is located in a safe area close to Williamsburg brigde from where you can walk to Manhattan. We highly recommend you to stay in this apartment. Lulu and Claire are both very helpfull and trustfull people.
Due to the blizzard and a flight cancellation we were delayed one day and got the money back from 1 one night. We look forward to coming back to NY and stay in your aparment :)
