Jeff was a great host, low-key and very prompt in communications. The house exceeded our expectations - great kitchen, loved the large deck and the beds were the most comfortable of our trip. The view of Mt. Ashland and the Colestin Valley was very nice. We had a small birthday party celebration and enjoyed the meteor shower and Milky Way from the deck. All in all, a great experience and perfect for those that would like to get out of the city yet have good food, entertainment and shopping a short drive away.
We had a great stay! We got accurate information from Jeff, he was very responsive. We had no problems with the drive up as some others mentioned. Most of the road to the house (the steepest part) is now paved (looks brand new). The outside look just like in the pictures. Great to have breakfast looking at deer and turkeys every morning.
The interior is awesome, lots of space, beautiful materials a lot of love was put into this cabin. Bedrooms are downstairs, two rooms, and a third space (open) that has one more (single) bed that is separated from one of the bedrooms with a door. Very large living room upstairs and a great kitchen with brand new appliances. A little inconvenient for us with a crawling baby was the big stairs in the living room that did not have a baby gate. But we blocked it with the big leather chair and our pack and play, so it was not a big problem.
We didn't use the deck outside because there were a lot of wasps. Also grilling was not an option for that reason. I'll let Jeff know, I hope he takes care of that, because the deck is great too.
The place was exactly as described. Beautiful and serene. Everything was clean , appliances are new, all necessities were provided. Jeff was responsive and courteous, provided all the information we needed in a timely manner.
Jeff is a fantastic host and his cabin is awesome! Everything inside the place is really nice: furnishings, appliances, etc. And the views are incredible! It was really smokey the week we were in Ashland because of all the fires, but we were content hanging out in these cozy accommodations. When the smoke cleared a little, we especially enjoyed hiking Pilot Rock and riding bikes near Mt. Ashland, both of which are very close to the cabin. The steep little section of gravel road leading up to the cabin looked like it had been very recently paved, and we made it just fine in our little civic. There was a new house being built a little further down the driveway from the cabin, and some people drove by a few times while we were there, but other than that, it felt very private and secluded. I would highly recommend this place, and especially Jeff as a host. He is a very gracious and great at getting back to you quickly.
The pictures do not do this place justice. The house was just as amazing as the scenery, with the modern appliances, accent lighting and heated floors in the bathroom. We will without a doubt stay here again, should we find ourselves in this neck of the woods.
The cabin was an absolutely beautiful place and Jeff was an excellent host. We had a great time exploring the property including the trails nearby. It's close enough to Ashland to go into town for supplies or entertainment, but far enough away that you don't have to feel crowded. Absolutely a place I would go back to!
4 friends and I stayed in Jeff's cabin for a week and it was fantastic! We all had room to sleep comfortably. Jeff was very responsive - we stayed in the cabin on a particularly hot week and Jeff even brought in a portable AC unit to keep us cool.
The cabin itself is very new and clean - all of the appliances are updated which made it great for cooking large meals. We loved that the cabin was a little off the beaten path, but at times we could still hear some sound from the highway.
I would recommend this cabin to anyone who is looking to get away for a bit and is ready for some beautiful views!
