The cabin was an absolutely beautiful place and Jeff was an excellent host. We had a great time exploring the property including the trails nearby. It's close enough to Ashland to go into town for supplies or entertainment, but far enough away that you don't have to feel crowded. Absolutely a place I would go back to!
4 friends and I stayed in Jeff's cabin for a week and it was fantastic! We all had room to sleep comfortably. Jeff was very responsive - we stayed in the cabin on a particularly hot week and Jeff even brought in a portable AC unit to keep us cool.
The cabin itself is very new and clean - all of the appliances are updated which made it great for cooking large meals. We loved that the cabin was a little off the beaten path, but at times we could still hear some sound from the highway.
I would recommend this cabin to anyone who is looking to get away for a bit and is ready for some beautiful views!
What a wonderful cabin! Spacious and comfortable living area with well equipped kitchen and high end appliances. The property is gorgeous with expansive views and visits by deer, wild turkeys, ground squirrels and jack rabbits. We sat on the huge deck and enjoyed breakfast while watching the hawks and eagles soaring above, looking for their breakfast.
Initially we had some difficulty with the steep gravel entry to the property as our car is small, low to the ground and definitely has no 4 wheel drive. We called Jeff at 10pm to help us and he answered promptly, giving us advice. The next day morning he had someone compact the area and we had no more trouble after that. Jeff's intention is to level and pave the road which he already began working on as we left.
Because there is only 1 bathroom and the place sleeps five (2 couples and a single), I would suggest that Jeff put in a full length mirror and light in the center open bedroom area for makeup and hair as well as full dress view. There is a decorative mirror near the ground floor entrance but it was placed too high for my short friend, however perfect for me. Too bad we didn't notice it until our last day. Not a big deal but it would be a convenient addition. I'd also suggest adding an empty shelf above the toilet for placing personal toiletries. There is no space on the sink. This house appears to be brand newly built so it is in perfect condition and is well stocked with towels and cleaning supplies and other conveniences. We had a great time and highly recommend the Siskiyou Cabin. Thank you Jeff for being so attentive and responsive. We'll be back next year for the theatrical season at the Shakespeare Festival.
This house is amazing. It is a little off the beaten path but it is worth it. I stayed here for my Souther Oregon University graduation with some of my family and we had a great time. Just being able to see the stars at night made the visit worth it. Plenty of room for a BBQ. I would defiantly stay here again.
My family and I enjoyed our stay. This property has amazing views. We headed to Oregon at night and Jeff was so kind to stay on the phone with us until we arrived at his place. Will come back again for sure. Thanks Jeff !!!
Our stay at the cabin was great. We were looking to get away from the daily grind, and this place satisfied. Everything was as advertised, and Jeff was great. He even extended our visit a day; which was incredibly generous and, for me, one of those gestures that restores my faith in my fellow man. We had daily visits from wild turkeys, deer, and jack rabbits, panoramic views lacking any semblance of city life, and even a bit of snow:) I would recommend you visit this cabin, and would again myself. I would like to see how the property evolves and how the apple, prune, and other newly planted trees continue to grow; there seems to be a definite intention behind the landscaping going on. Cheers!
