About this listing
Located in a private street in the district of Pinheiros, the house benefits from a both quiet and strategic location to explore the city. Spacious and bright, the room can accommodate up to two people. We offer breakfast.
We live in a charming house located in a tree-lined private street in the district of Pinheiros.
We rent a bright and spacious private room on the second floor of the house. Equipped with a comfortable double bed (1.40 x 1.90 m) and a desk, it can accommodate up to two people. A broadband wireless internet connection is available.
We offer a generous breakfast that I prepare myself with local products. Freshly squeezed orange juice, seasonal fruit, yogurt, granola, whole wheat bread, "pão de queijo" (the typical Brazilian cheese bread), cheese, jam, coffee or tea will be waiting for you in the dining room at the time you want.
We speak English, French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese.
Pinheiros is a vibrant neighborhood that hides some quiet refuges. Here, while living in a peaceful room overlooking the vegetation, you can enjoy a great selection of restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, bookstores, art galleries and street art... It is also strategic located to access (even by foot) a large variety of well known city attractions.
A lively flea market is held every Saturday afternoon at Benedito Calixto square, 400 meters from the house.
Other great neighborhoods can be reached easily. Vila Madalena, known by its galleries, art studios, boutiques of young designers, bars, restaurants and clubs can be reached on foot (1.5 km) or by bus. Jardins, famous for its shops of international brands, is also nearby: Oscar Freire Street, the main axis, passes a few 600 meters from the house.
Pinheiros district is particularly well served by public transportation. Many bus lines lead directly to downtown, Paulista Avenue and other neighborhoods like Vila Madalena, Jardins, Higienópolis or Perdizes. You can also take the subway; the nearest station, Clínicas, is located 800 meters from the house.
We don’t have a garage. If you come by car, you can park in a private parking near the house (we park our car in the same private parking 250 meters away and open 24/7).
Coming from the International Airport of Guarulhos, we recommend you to take a taxi from the Guarucoop company. The amount is fixed and paid in advance in the company’s stores located at the airport exits (around R$150 that you can pay by credit card or in cash). As the airport is located about 32 km from the city, the journey takes at least an hour and a quarter, if you have luck with the traffic !
We hope you to feel home and to take care of ours as if it was your own. The inside areas are non-smoking, but you are allowed to smoke in the front garden. We appreciate the silence and ask guests not to make too much noise after 10 PM.
Carlos was very welcoming and extremely accommodating. The house is located near a street with lots of musical instrument shop. If you are into instruments, this will be the place for you. The room is nice, clean and quiet. Carlos also make wonderful breakfast in the morning during our stay. When we are leaving his place and going to the airport, Carlos double checked with the taxi driver for us to make sure taxi driver knows where we are going. We felt like home when staying at his place.
Carlos and his wife were just amazing! Such warm people and beautiful hospitality. Both my wife and I felt truly welcome and at home. Carlos even showed up at a talk that I did and that was really encouraging :). Highly recommend staying with them. Safe and gorgeous neighbourhood and nice clean home and room with tasteful art work everywhere.
Carlos and Renate are fantastic hosts, friendly and caring. They make you feel like home as soon as you arrive. Their B&B is a traditional house in a quiet pedestrian area in the nice neighborhood of Pineros and at walking distance from Villa Madalena (a trendy area).
The house is tastefully decorated, the room comfortable and bright and the abundant fresh breakfast of papaya, fresh orange juice etc. makes a great start of the day.
I did have a wonderful experience staying with Carlos and Renata. They are formidable people and always ready to help and give you information about the city. The neighborhood is very nice, with lots of restaurants, shops, supermarket and just two blocks away from Oscar Freire, a glamorous spot with loads of boutiques (of all prices) and restaurants. Carlos and Renata make you feel at home. The room offered is very spacious and well lit by natural lighting. The bad is very comfortable. Every morning Carlos prepares a delicious and healthy breakfast. All this make your stay very pleasant. I do recommend their home if you are visiting Sao Paulo, a place like no other in the world!
En plus d etre une tres (tres) belle adresse et de proposer un excellent cafe da manha, loger chez carlos et reneta est une authentique experience de vie paulista qui se poursuit au dela du sejour,
I had a wonderful stay at Carlos' home. It is convenient to the Clinicas Metro station and in the heart of the Pinheiros district of Sao Paulo. Every morning had a wonderful breakfast and he was able to give great advice about how to get around Sao Paulo. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Carlos place.
About the Host, Carlos
I am a retired independent architect. My wife Renata – also an architect – and I take a great pleasure in welcoming our guests. Apart from architecture, we like contemporary art and cinema. We love cooking and eating well.
We enjoy each opportunity to travel; after traveling around Europe, Latin America and some parts of the United States, we are now looking to explore other continents, through contacts with guests from India, Australia, Morocco...
Despite the critics one can do to living conditions in São Paulo, we love this city where we both live since always. It will be a pleasure to advise you on the paths to take and places to know!
