Description

The space

You’ll enjoy a Master Bedroom with a Queen-size bed, TV, wireless access, a private bathroom, and a large shower.
Located in the charming town of Windsor: central to the best of Sonoma County's wineries, including Frances Ford Coppola’s resort and winery; minutes from the quaint, historic town of Healdsburg; about an hour from San Francisco and the Bay Area by car. Regional activities include kayaking and canoeing along the Russian River, hiking in the many state and county parks, and world class bicycling. Central Sonoma County is a true Foodie and Wine Lover’s paradise.
Our home offers on-site parking, internet access, cable TV, and a swimming pool. Our backyard deck is a great spot for relaxation, reading or an afternoon glass of wine. Our guests are welcome to use our kitchen and laundry facilities. We are situated on a quiet, private half acre co-occupied by eight chickens (all laying hens) and three cats. We are friendly, accommodating, and ready to do our part to make your trip memorable.

Guest access

The guests have access to their en suite, the kitchen if needed, and the rest of the public spaces of our house. They also have access to the yard, garden, and pool.

Interaction with guests

We like to get to know our guests a little, but the amount of interaction is totally up to the guests.

The neighborhood

Our neighborhood is quite and centrally located close to Healdsburg, the Dry Creek AVA (American Viticulture Area), Russian River AVA, Alexander Valley AVA, Chalk Hill AVA, Sebastopol, and Santa Rosa.

Getting around

Public transit is limited, but taxi service is available.

Other things to note

We do not accept reservations of more than 7 days.

7th stay in the books and each one is better than the last one! We love staying here and Donn and Danja have become like family. The worse part is always having to leave. Looking forward to our next stay at this little oasis in the wine country!

Donn and his wife were amazing, amazing hosts! They have a lovely home that they made us feel welcome in, gave us a tour around the place, cooked us a fabulous breakfast with homemade preserves and eggs from their garden, and were just A+ hosts. We are already looking forward to going back and exploring Sonoma while staying with them again.

I am a retired Ironworker, and my wife Danja (retired from UPS), moved to "Wine Country" in 2009 to enjoy the good life of fine wine; gourmet local, seasonal, and sustainable food; music; and good friends. We enjoy meeting new people and fostering great friendships. Danja is fluent in German and gets by in many other languages -- she loves the challenge of any new language. We have traveled together and independently to Europe, Asia, Canada, and Central America. We have lived in Hawaii, the Chicago Area. Orange County California, and Vashon Island Washington. We offer a casual, feel at home atmosphere tinged with a hint of what Sonoma County living means to us..
