About this listing
Peace, Nature, Sun and Sea.
When we dealt with the restructuring of this farmhouse, which was in a complete state of decay, it was far from us the idea that we could rent it and share it with people outside the family. Its restructuring was possible thanks to a work of dedication, passion and research for an ancient atmosphere. We brought to light an original arch as well as stone walls and exposed beams. We also gave great attention to the search for materials such as old tiles, decorative objects and pieces of Sicilian handicraft. We believe that this “testimony of the past” so created, envelops its guests with a beautiful atmosphere of a real farmhouse away from modern conveniences. Those who choose to stay in this house will be attracted by the warmth and simplicity that you breathe in this environment.
Seaside location in the center of Gulf of Castellamare, minutes aways from sandy beach of Balestrate, close to village center, so handy for all the service and amenities. Close to all "must-sees" historical and touristic sites like: Palermo, Monreale, San Vito lo Capo, Scopello, Natural Reservoir Zingaro, Segesta, Trapani, Erice, Cefalù, ect. Friendly, helpful service from owners with advice at hand on all aspects of a visit to Palermo and Sicily. Villa full of character with sophisticated decor which creates a relaxing atmosphere.

The only mistake we made, if mistake it was, was coming here in late July, with temperatures reaching 35 degrees Celsius in the daytime. But then, what could be nicer that enjoying the cool inside the antiques-studded house or slowly roaming the large garden, picking up figs and tomatoes? Plus, the beach is just an easy downhill walk away. (Uphill is a different matter in the heat.) There also is a pool you can use for a small fee in the holiday colony next door.
In short, we'd highly recommend staying in this Casolare. The house and the garden are beautiful, the view is superb, it's a very quiet location. Bring lots of mosquito repellant, though!
Luca and his parents were super-helpful. Luca would frequently message us with sightseeing or practical suggestions, and he was always reachable. One afternoon, a defect in the water pump blew the electrical fuse. After a quick WhatsApp message to Luca, we quickly had Luca's father and two handymen on the grounds to fix the problem.
Balestrate town is small, not particularly special, but likeable and not too crowded. There may be more sights in other areas of Sicily, but Palermo, Trapani, Erice, Segesta etc. are short drives away and will keep you occupied for quite some time.
The house was amazing and so peaceful. Luca's parents gave us a great tour when we arrived and the house had everything we needed.
I'd say it's essential to have a car here as there's not much within walking distance, but the surrounding area is fantastic for day trips to beaches, towns and nature reserves.
Many thanks to Luca, he's a perfect host. We had a marvellous stay at Casolare Tre Ulivi, which is a peaceful, quiet place and perfect to relax. We enjoyed the garden and the lovingly furnished house and highly recommend Casolare Tre Ulivi to all who look for recreation and want to see the beauty of this wonderful and magic part of Sicily.
We'll come back
Mille grazie, alla prossima
Luca was not available but his mom and dad came to meet us and we followed them in our rental car to the Casolare. It is a very peaceful home that is hidden in the hills around Balestrate. You feel like you are stepping back to a romantic time in the Sicilian countryside with the decor inside and out. The home was very clean, the beds were very comfortable, the kitchen had what we needed to make a simple meal. It has a perfect location to go to Palermo for the day (would not recommend staying in Palmero) and to explore the northwest region of Sicily. The Zingaro park is fabulous with charming beaches.
Many thanks to Luca and his family.
We can highly recommend the accommodation. The house is lovingly furnished with many small details. we really enjoyed the garden. it's a good starting point for excursions. The village has everything you need, supermarket .... A rental car is recommended
We had a wonderful stay at Casolare Tre Ulivi. The House is a beautiful Sicilian farmhouse with a very nice garden that her little girl enjoyed very much. In the little town of Balestrate you can find everything you need : supermarket, Pharmacy, bakery, restaurant..
From Balestrate, you can reach easily Castellammare, zingaro riserva, Palermo. We recommand the house.
BOOK THIS PLACE NOW! That's the only way to start a review for this beautiful house, if you are looking for:
- a beautiful Sicilian farmhouse with an idyllic garden and very good facilities
- easy access to beach (walking or by car) and near a village
- a location near Palermo and with fast access to both the motorway and the beach national road
- something unique and memorable
this really is the place.
The house is perfect. It feels timeless but at the same time you have all the modern comforts. We love cooking (there are good supermarkets in the village, but the best one is about 15 minutes drive away we found), and the barbecue and very good kitchen helped us enjoy that part as well.
Our daughter loved the paddling pool and the "sunflower outdoor shower" in the backyard.
The restaurant recommendations from the hosts are excellent. We loved the pizzas at Cavallo Blanco especially!
So yes, BOOK IT NOW! :)
