Super safe neighborhood.
Amazingly center of the vibrant Lower East Side neighborhood with awesome bars, restaurants, boutique shopping. Blocks from great music venues such as Rockwood Music Hall, Piano's, The Mercury Lounge, The Living Room.... Many delicious restaurants, cafe's and coffee shops such as Clinton Bakery, Beauty and Essex, The Stanton Social, The Meatball Shop..... Our favorite wine shop is "September Wine and Spirits" on Stanton.

I really enjoyed my stay. The apartment had such a cozy atmosphere and was filled with lovely plants. The building was rich with history and I felt lucky to have spent some time there.
We had an amazing moment at Kate and Aresh'. We noted 5\5, which is dangerous if you want to visit NYC and not just chill in the flat! The atmosphere is very peaceful and warm, Aresh was very helpful when we arrived, even though he was not here. Finally, the location of the flat is perfect: nice neighbourhood and close to everything. You won't regret your stay!
Aresh was a very nice host, always very helpful.
the place is very charming and relaxing, have a good sound system and a lot of books to read.
The location is very good, 3 blocks from de station. The neighborhood is the best, lots of restaurants and bars that we can go walking.
It's very close to brooklyn too!
I recomend staying there.
Aresh welcomed us warmly and helped with the luggage and gave us a tour through the apartment, recommended supermarkets and restaurants. We arrived after an almost 10h flight and were a little worn out, but that all was gone after we settled in. We felt very welcome. The apartment is wonderful, sunny, clean, big and very quiet. Our little daughter loved all the charming details like plants, little figurines of animals and the big tub!
The bed in the bedroom was big enough for all three of us even though we could have used the additional airbed in the livingroom or some futon next to the bed.
The view from the apartment is amazing. It totally pays off for walking up 5 floors, even with a stroller! We would definitely book Aresh and Kate's apartment again and recommend it to anyone who loves to not only spend time but "live" in a place with a good spirit!
Aresh was nice and he was at the appartment when we arrived, to show us around. They have lots of books of NY.
The apartment itself is very much like in the pictures. It is an old building and the hallway is very worn down.
We had an ok stay in the appartment. It was cleaned, but it is worn down. Toilet in the hall works ok, you knew beforehand. There are 3 other apartments on the same floor - just so you know that your are not alone if you have to go to the toilet at night!
Two things though: Sleeping: I guess I had expected Futon-matress to be "firm, but comfotable". It really wasen't! All three in our party had bad sleeps, the matress itself is about 6 cm thick and to me it felt like sleeping directly on the wooden floor! But some people may like that...
Noise: I guess you can't expect NYC to be un-noisy. But one of us had to sleep in the living room - and part of one window (where the A/C is placed) is replaced with plastic wich made a lot of noise in. There was also some noise from the hallway at night (people going up and down to the outside roof).
Still - after walking around NY all day we enjoyed comming back to an appartment instead of a hotel-room. Nighborhood seems fine, wery diverse. Wi-fi also worked well.
