"CHERI AMOUR" IS A HISTORIC BUILDING KNOWN AS "JIM MORRISON'S LAST KNOWN U. S. RESIDENCE".

Can you imagine staying in the same building as where rock legend Jim Morrison's (The Doors) lived in his former home, known worldwide amongst Doors fans as “Jim Morrison‘s last known U.S. residence” and featured in Doors biographies, documentaries, television, film, newspaper and magazine articles, and internet websites? Now you can!

The rock legend and poet resided there with his girlfriend, Pamela Courson, from (phone number hidden). During this time, they left for Paris where he reportedly died on July 3, 1971. Jim's famous "Rolling Stone" interview was conducted here. A séance with three world renowned psychics was held here in 2004. Cheri Woods gave an exclusive interview to "Current Affair" regarding Jim's alleged faked death.

Live in the building of Jim's private sanctuary where he wrote his poetry and played his music at this charming, traditionally elegant 6-unit villa estate built in 1932. Your off-site host is Hollywood celebrity actress, author, and entrepreneur, Cheri Woods. Cheri is the ex-wife of International pop star Stevie Woods, daughter-in-law of jazz icon Rusty Bryant, and cousin-in-law of “Miami Vice” TV star Phillip Michael-Thomas. Cheri is a licensed real-estate agent and can assist you with any real-estate needs such as a permanent rental or selling / purchasing property in the Los Angeles or Las Vegas area.

We have 7 rentals in 3 locations in 2 states. All of our rentals are "self check-in." This means the guests are provided a personal access code to the gate lockbox and electronic lock to the rental unit door, so they can arrive any time they wish when check-in time begins. Since our guests come from all over the world on different time zones, and sometimes several guests arriving on the same day, it is impossible for your host to meet and greet you. So it is important that you read the listing carefully. After you book, your check-in instructions will be emailed to you a few days prior to your arrival. It is important that you READ AND PRINT THEM OUT, and FOLLOW THEM so that your check-in and check-out process goes smoothly, and your stay is an enjoyable one.

  • The Jim Property has to be one of the coolest examples of 1930's Spanish Architecture on the historic gay Norton Ave block. Just waking up in the windowed bedroom every bright day that LA offers for 2 whole months was pretty awesome. Cheri was very accommodating and the building had many safety features including high locked gates, changeable code doors, and secured parking with lot cameras and lights. Definitely a unique fun property (email hidden)ly WeHo block.

  • Super gediegene Wohnung in bester Lage... Top um LA zu erleben. Die Wohnung selber hat gepasst. Kleinigkeiten hier und da... aber das stört nicht wirklich im Gesamtbild. Top nur zum Empfehlen...

  • we parked in the "wrong" parking space in an almost completely empty lot out back when we first got our car. we were called by cheri within 5 mins. to say that she overreacted is an understatement and was somewhat condescending during her long-winded call to me, where she complained about her other visitors.

    airbnb sent me so many unnecessary and annoying emails just to make the reservation, so i didn't read every word. i travel a lot and am extremely busy so this all became fairly tedious.

    also, the comforter on the bed i stayed in was kind of smelly and gross.

    after removing the comforter and being left alone, it was ok.

    she'll probably respond to this saying that i should have read everything in advance. great. just relax.

    Andrew violated the rules by parking in another residents designated parking space. This could have been a problem had we not caught it right away. He was apologetic and cooperative in moving his vehicle immediately to his own designated space.
    It's common for a guest to leave a negative review when they know they have violated a rule and are subject to a fine, which I did not even fine Andrew or tow his vehicle. Aside from that incident, he was a fine guest.
    In regard to the incident, I think any reasonable person would agree that when you are a guest at someone's home or property, you have a responsibility to follow the rules. Just as ignorance of the law is no excuse for breaking it, failure to read your check-in instructions is also no excuse for violating the rules. With that being said, our W. Hlwd. property is located in a restricted parking zone where you need a permit to park. That's why free onsite parking is so valuable to tenants. Ours is located in our rear parking lot. Each tenant in our 6 unit bldg. is provided ONE designated parking space in front of each of the 6 garages. There is also one space next to the bldg. for the owner. When a guest parks in someone else's parking space, my permanent tenants are left with nowhere to park their car. Then I am subjected to irate tenants phone calls in the middle of the night due to "my guests" inconsiderate actions. I would hope that any intelligent person would understand and respect others rights, but when guests park illegally one right after another, it becomes very frustrating! The guest prior to Andrew had an unauthorized visitor who parked overnight in the CENTER of the driveway, blocking 5 tenants from being able to get into their parking spaces! Over-reacting? Since my check-in instructions with big, bold type warning of fines and towing go ignored, hopefully the huge towing sign now plastered across the electric gate won't.

  • My cousin and I just spent a week here and I gotta say it was great!
    First off it was in a perfect location. Close enough to the Sunset Strip that we could walk to anywhere we wanted to go, yet far away enough that it was nice and quite. There were plenty of restaurants and bars close by and being we were out late most nights we felt comfortable enough to walk home.
    I had read some reviews on this place before we got there and some people mentioned the instructions to access the apartment were a bit confusing. We didn't find that at all. We had no problems getting in although we did arrive at night and it was dark so we had to use our cell phones for light to see the lock box combination (no big deal).
    Upon entering the the apartment it was clean and smelt nice. The beds were comfortable and all the linens were clean and in good condition.
    There were 2 bathrooms, one shared between the two bedrooms and one off the living room with just a toilet which was really nice to have. The towels were clean and fresh smelling and seemed fairly new.
    The kitchen was decently equipped with a stove, fridge, some small appliances and dinnerware. To save a little money we cooked breakfast most mornings before heading out.
    Cheri was a great host promptly answering any questions we had.
    Of course no matter where you stay you could always find something to complain about but there was nothing here that would even be worth mentioning.
    I would most defiantly stay here again and recommend it to anyone!!!
    Oh, and the Jim Morrison history was pretty cool too!

  • We booked this place because my husband is obsessed with Jim Morrison and wanted to stay here while in town since Jim Morrison lived in this apartment complex (although not in this specific apartment). We went into this booking knowing that it would not be the most updated apartment (as the host specified in the description that she tries to keep a 70s motif). That said the bed frames on both beds were SUPER squeaky and most of the towels were really thin. I wasn't expecting a super modern / updated apartment, but at least would have liked a bed that doesn't squeak when you get in it and decent towels. If the host fixed these two things, this place would be much more comfortable. (If those two things were fixed then I would give this place 4-stars instead of 3)
    Also, as another tip, if you have either a nice car or a wide car you won't want to try to park in your reserved parking spot. The driveway is SUPER NARROW and you could easily scratch your car on the hedge / side of building if you're not careful.
    Beyond that, we had an easy time getting into the place and no communication mishaps.

    We had no problems with this guest, other than her critical review re: her issues w/ thin towels, squeeky beds, & narrow driveway to onsite parking~ all of which she was clearly informed about in our listing prior to her booking the unit (other than the alleged "squeeky beds.") You get what you pay for. If you want low priced lodging in the heart of the action which this guest opted for, don't expect Egyptian cotton towels or valet parking. If you want luxury, then pay 2-3x more & 14% hotel tax & daily parking at a Sunset Strip hotel.

  • This is a great location! You can't beat it. Nice safe neighbourhood in super trendy West Hollywood. We stayed there for New Year's Eve and happily partied the night away on the Sunset Strip and then simply walked back down the nice quiet leafy streets back home.

    The place it's self, though a little tired, is secure and private with everything you need. The place it's self is very clean and professionally managed. All emails / questions were answered promptly.

    Great value for West Hollywood.

  • A great property in a great area. Right near Sunset for some nightlife and Beverly Hills for some shopping with Hollywood just a 5 minute drive down the way. It being a bit further from Hollywood it made this area quiet and away from the craziness of Hollywood Blvd. The price was reasonable but the apartment has a rather retro feel to it which was fine to me. Perhaps the greatest part of this property was its the former residence of Jim Morrison. It has a rich history and gives you a very cool feeling of this is where he used to reside. Gated in so it gives a feeling of security. Great property overall.

  • Great house for people to do their own cooking and laundry while visiting LA. Good nice location. We had a rental while we stayed so getting up and around the place was easy for us.
    Cheri had good instructions (very long lol...) but easy and good and precise for your stay to be easy to move in and out.
    There were four adults staying so we all enjoyed it even though the couple who stayed in the other room were scared they might roll off the high bed lol....
    Great place and would recommend others to stay there too.
