I work full-time at the University of Wyoming and will give you lots of privacy. I enjoy hiking, mountain biking, reading, rafting, and photography. I live with two friendly - but furry - cats (not good if you have allergies) who would love to play with you. Chunk (fuzzy & gray) and Steve (large & black) love treats and chasing string.
I have lived in Laramie for a looong time and can give you lots of great suggestions for the area (including recreation, transportation, dining, entertainment, etc). Let me know if you have any questions!
Other Things to Note
The University of Wyoming is a short bike ride or 5-10 minute walk. You can also hop on the free campus shuttle just three blocks away. Downtown Laramie is a 10 minute ride, or 15-20 minute walk.
Several restaurants and our neighborhood pub (O'Dwyers Public House - great for drinks, dinner, bingo and trivia) are just a quick 3 block walk away. Also nearby is Washington Park, LaPrele Park, Albertsons grocery and open prairie.
Melanie was gone when I arrived, but had made prior arrangements with me on where to find the key. When she got home she gave me good advice on where to take a walk in the neighborhood. She lives just a few blocks from the University of Wyoming, which made for a great place to stroll around. Her house is very colorful and creative! I enjoyed looking at all the beautiful artwork and decor. On the desk in the guest bedroom she had a great packet of information that included kitchen photos labeled with all the contents in the cabinets. This made it very easy for me to make my breakfast and coffee in the morning, and Melanie even offered me fresh eggs from the hens in her backyard!
Melanie was very accommodating and nice. She accommodated my schedule by leaving the key since she wasn't home. Room was clean and comfy. Wasn't there long but the experience was good. Highly recommended!
The reservation was canceled 117 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
I traveled to Laramie to see my brother graduate, and for the first time traveled as an adult with my mother who is differently abled. While I was very nervous about how we would be received, (as I normally travel alone),Melanie, Caleb, Chunk and Steve ( their cats) made us feel very welcome and at home. A lovely place to stay in Laramie in a great location!
My experience at Melanie's was short and sweet. My travel plans changed a bit, and she left a key in the mailbox for me as she was not home when I arrived. Her place is so cute! She has amazing taste. The bungalow is clean, colorful, and tastefully furnished.
It showed that she put a lot of time and effort into a little guest guidebook, which included info about the house and where to find things (love it!) and also information about Laramie.
As a weary traveler, I appreciated that Melanie gave me plenty of privacy and space to decompress.
