The Space

Welcome to Casa Jeffrey!

I am happy to welcome into my home new friends from around the world! I live here full time and I rent out my three extra bedrooms. If you are looking for a true New Yorker experience, look no further! If you prefer something wholly private you should find another listing as I never rent out my entire apartment. It is possible I will have visitors in my other bedrooms so you may meet some interesting friends while you're here. I realize the kind of experience I offer isn't for everyone, so please give it some thought before booking.

I have three Guest Bedrooms and two Full Bathrooms here. I use one of the Bathrooms(Resident Bathroom) and the other is shared by our guests(Guest Bathroom). They are labeled in the photos as such. It is very likely you will be sharing the Guest Bathroom with other guests. Fear Not! I clean the bathrooms daily to ensure maximum comfort and cleanliness and each Guest Bedroom has ample wall hooks for storing your bath towels. That said, if one is occupied when you need it, you are more than welcome to use the other. Either way they are both recently renovated, clean, and aesthetically pleasing. Fresh towels are always on hand. I also provide some basic toiletries should you need them. There is always soap, q-tips, contact lens solution, band aids, aspirin and more on hand and available for your use should you need them.

I offer very flexible Check-In/ Check-Out times! Please let me know what time you plan to arrive/ depart so I may coordinate with our other guests. You may be asked to vacate your room by a certain time in order for me to have it cleaned in time for our next guests' arrival. You are always welcome to store your luggage in our living room until you are ready to depart.

Privacy is easily obtained if you want it. If you're more social, then myself and my roommate are quite friendly. The house is always kept clean and in good order. There is no elevator here, and we are a 4 flight walk-up so please keep that in mind. I am more than happy to help you get your bags up and down though!

The real bonus on being on the top floor is all the great sunlight we get - 3 exposures and the views!

We are located 2 short blocks from Columbus Circle, Central Park and Hudson River Park. There is incredible dining options all around us. You will find we are extremely convenient to several subway lines( A, B, C, D, E, F, N, Q, R, 1 Trains), buses as well as Penn Station and the Port Authority Bus Terminal. Should you need to park, there are several garages on our block, however please be aware they are very expensive! We do not have/ offer on-site parking of any kind. We are well within walking distance to the Theater District, Lincoln Center, The Metropolitan Opera, The New York City Ballet, The New York Philharmonic Orchestra as well as the Upper West Side. A short stroll will take you to the fabulous shopping of 5th Avenue or the bright lights of Times Square.

Smoking is allowed here, but only on the terrace.

Hungry? Feel free to grab something in the kitchen. There is always a ton of food here. You're welcome to cook or even entertain a dinner party if you so wish. Just be prepared to return the kitchen the way you found it.

You're welcome to use the living room and kitchen as if it were your own. We want you to feel comfortable here!

Each guest will receive their own set of keys - one for the front door and one for the apartment door. Our individual rooms do not have locks! It is perfectly reasonable to be somewhat wary of this, but I trust in the good nature of all of our guests. Remember you are renting a room in my home. I have far more to lose here than you are bringing with you. This is not a hotel with hundreds of transients. Your privacy is respected 100%, 100% of the time! Should you feel less than comfortable with this situation it would likely be best for you to stay elsewhere.

Unless I am sleeping, I respond almost immediately to any inquiry. Please give me a clear picture of your intentions for staying here and whatever your specific needs may be. No one likes surprises at check-in! If you do not already have the AirBNB smartphone app, I highly recommend downloading it!

Below you will find descriptions of the other rooms we have to offer. Should you wish to book one or more of them instead, please follow the links to my other listings through my profile!

  • Very nice experience indeed. The room and the separate guest bathroom were very clean. Would definitely stay here again if ever I'm in New York. The location was awesome - only 5 minutes walk from Central Park and Times Square.

  • Impeccably, clean, spacious place, very nice host, very conviently located - close to Columbus Circle/Central park, safe neighborhood

Separate bathrooms / shower for the guests, large kitchen - I would definitely book again with Jeffrey.

  • Jeffrey was a very friendly host. He would even help you carry your luggage up to your room if you need help. Everything in the house has been kept clean and neat. It makes you feel very comfortable. There were some snacks and drinks in the fridge that Jeffrey had offered free of charge. The location is pretty good too if you prefer to stay away from crowded spots, but still want to be close enough to walk there.

  • A friend and myself stayed at Jeffrey's for 5 nights. Wow! What a wonderful apartment! It was perfect for us - very central (short walk) to Time Square and Central Park and plenty of subway stations close by to venture further out. Jeffrey was a wonderful host and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. It was also nice to cross paths with other travelers if other guests happen to be staying while you are. We were able to get some great recommendations of things to do from a couple visiting from Spain.
Highly recommend this apartment and would definitely stay again.

  • Nous avons passé quelques jours chez Jeffrey.
Magnifique situation pour visiter N.Y., du calme pour dormir, propre et entrainement physique assuré: 5ème étage sans ascenseur.
    Accueille chaleureux.
    Merci Jeffrey

  • New York was amazing for me and part of this was the Jeffrey´s apt: awesome location, beautiful, comfortable, calm, good coffee (lol) and he was patient to explain every doubt I´ve had. This was my first Airbnb experience and I was a little afraid because I would spend 10 days in NY with one friend, aunt and cousin. They didn´t speak english. But, he was an excellent host. Will certainly contact him again when I get a chance to visit NYC in the future. Thanks!

  • Jeffery was our first BNB host. We were a little nervous, but were pleasantly surprised by how welcoming he was. The apartment was very central and we loved Jeffery's inerior decorating. It was always clean and tidy and the coffee amazing. If we return to New York we would be happy to stay wih him again.

  • My friend and I stayed at Jeffrey's place for two nights. I love everything there, hosts, location, interior environment... We can simply walk to Columbia Circle or Time Square. T station is also super close. Basically, we had great time there. And I love the hosts' taste on paintings and collections. I will strong recommend this place in NYC :)

  • Couldn't have had a better stay. The apartment was very clean, the bed was comfortable, the sheets were soft, the towels were fluffy, and Jeffrey was an excellent host.

    March 2014
  • Jeffrey was very nice and incredibly helpful—he really went out of his way to help me make travel arrangements for me and my brother. His home is beautiful—very well kept, clean, and inviting with lots of natural light. Although we didn't get a chance this time around, I REALLY wanted to cook in Jeffrey's kitchen! If we'd planned a different kind of trip, this would have been a wonderful treat, plus there's a Whole Foods just down the street which was very convenient. The location was perfect for getting around Manhattan. We'd definitely stay there again :) Another thing I should mention is that our beds were VERY firm, so if you have difficulty because of back problems, etc, sleeping on a firm mattress you might want to take that into account.
