  • Though a little tricky to find, once you get to the Lost Coyote Cabin it's so so worth it. On the outskirts of Yucca Valley (but still close to the center of the town) you get an awesome sense of having the exquisite desert all to your self. The Cabin it's self has everything you need and more and is beautifully curated and decorated, obviously with a lot of love and care! Staying there is an experience in itself and was well worth it. Darryl was very welcoming and helpful with getting us there and anything else we needed. The house has a lot of books and guides on the surrounding areas as well. It's a short drive to Joshua Tree National Park and Pioneer Town. We completely fell in love with Joshua Tree and a lot of that had to do with staying at the Lost Coyote. We'll definitely be coming back!

  • The 4 of us stayed in the lost coyote cabin and loved every minute of it. Deserted enough to enjoy the peace but close enough to shops. Great beds and kitchen, everything you need. We absolutely recommend this place to everyone. A big thanks to the host Darryl.

  • My husband and I and our baby son had an excellent time at Lost Coyote Cabin. The cabin was cozy, convenient and we loved the fabulous decor. Darryl is a wonderful host and provided clear instructions about the cabin and great tips for exploring the area. We especially enjoyed visiting the Noah Purifoy art site.

We look forward to returning and would highly recommend the cabin to fellow travelers.

  • I had the best time at the lost coyote cabin. Darryl was a great host. I was arriving at nighttime and he and his wife knew it would be a little tricky to find the place in the dark and they were very attentive and made sure I got there safely! He sent me an email with all the fun things to do/places to explore/restaurants to try in addition to the large folder he left at the cabin full of brochures so the adventures were endless in the area! The house was very clean and well stocked, and the location is close enough to the main street yet far enough to feel like a remote desert getaway. Thanks Darryl! I hope to be spending more time at your place in the future!

  • Darryl's cabin was a wonderfully comfortable, clean and peaceful place to stay while exploring Joshua Tree National Park! We had a wonderful time hiking in the Park and returning to relax at Lost Coyote Cabin. The decor is fun, local, and relaxing. The kitchen is very complete with everything you need to get happy hour rolling or cook up a meal. Darryl's follow-up emails from booking to arrival and prior to departure were attentive and informative. We also enjoyed the guide books on the table. They actually made a huge difference helping us pick and choose which hikes to do in the morning, afternoon, and evening. If the place wasn't booked we would have extend our stay! Thank you Darryl, one of our favorite Airbnb hosts to date! Ed & Tom

  • My boyfriend and I had a great three-day getaway at Lost Coyote Cabin. The cabin was secluded enough that we could escape from city life, yet close enough to grocery stores, the park west entrance and the good eats in Joshua Tree. Darryl provided great recommendations for food and other fun things to do. We especially loved the fire pit and took a nice post-hiking nap on the lounge chairs behind the cabin as the sun went down!

  • We loved the Lost Coyote Cabin. First of all, Darryl was very good giving us instructions prior to our arrival. He responded quickly to any questions we had prior to arriving at the Cabin and while we were staying there.

The Cabin was perfect. I loved how Darryl decorated the cabin since I love photography. We were able to sit outside and have a fire in his fire pit and listen to the coyotes at night. It is my favorite placed that I stayed at using Airbnb.

Darryl had a book of restaurants, things to do which was nice since many places that we have stayed at do not do that. He also suggested places to eat which both places were very very cool with great music.

Thank you Darryl for making your Lost Coyote Cabin one of the highlights of our trip!

  • We had a lovely stay at Darryl's cabin. The inside is very lovely, full of wonderful touches that made it very warm and welcoming. The kitchen is fully functional and everything had be thought out in advance to make the stay as comfortable and hassle-free as possible. The mattresses are somewhat on the firm side, something to be aware of if you require a very soft bed.

The cabin is close to the westernmost entrance of the park, only a few minutes away and less crowded than the more central tourist attractions. Lovely hikes.

A few days there effaced quite a lot of city stress and I would certainly come back.

  • Just got back from a wonderful 2 day stay. This cabin was perfect for our family of four. I don't think the listing adequately describes the beauty of the surrounding desert or how well stocked the kitchen is. This adorable place had every pot, pan, utensil, spice, cup we could possibly use, which we did. Plus the books on Joshua Tree and the binder with local restaurant menus were super helpful. Also, the place backs up onto some amazingly peaceful desert with easy to follow paths/dirt tracks. It is so convenient to town, but feels very removed at the same time. We can't wait to come back.

  • Very clean and cozy cabin. Plenty of room for four people. Kitchen has everything you need. Also nice outside fireplace with a cool view of the valley and the night sky. Darryl was an attentive host (although we didn't meet him in person). Follow his instructions to get there or you will get lost or leave tires - some roads out there are pretty rough.

About
We bought a cabin so we could easily go hiking and rock climbing in Joshua Tree National Park. We have since fallen in love with the art, fashion and music scene happening all around the area. This desert is beautifully surreal and draws millions of people form all over the world every year to visit. We strive to have our cabin be a added bonus to the explorers who seek more than just shelter. It seems like a waste not to share what we have discovered! Darryl
