We live, live and work with our two children on a former potato finca in the green north of the island above the village of Tamargada in a high valley at 600m altitude in a dreamlike, partly terraced location overlooking the hill chain and the sea. The house is surrounded by year-round green vegetation and surrounded by trees, plants, shrubs and animals.

The space
A simple wooden hut in the forest, consisting of 2 rooms of 25sqm with double bed 1,50x2,00), dining area, wood-burning stove, fully equipped small kitchenette with gas plates and small fridge as well as private bathroom with shower and toilet.
The catering takes place independently and on TV, telephone and internet, we have dispensed with in the cabana (internet is available in and around the main house and the terrace accessible to all). There is a lot of nature, a wide range of books, games, walks, conversations, fresh air and tranquility.
There are no electricity or transmission poles in the immediate vicinity.
The power supply is provided entirely by solar energy, boiled and showered with gas.
If it gets fresh in the evening, the property has a fireplace, which is quickly heated. The main house is located about 30 meters away.

Other things to note
If you want to spend a relaxing holiday on the island and be mobile, it is recommended to rent a car with which the island can be easily explored and discovered
The house can be reached from the main road via a private and hiking trail along rocks and through the forest. As it is partly uneven and shady, it is not advisable to use a normal car to drive down the slope to the house (1.6 km).
The car can be parked at the top of the road and we will pick you up with your luggage and bring you up again.
Sounds adventurous and it is.
If you don't want to rent a car, we'll be happy to pick you up from the (flight,-)port for a fee and bring you back there.
Mild in winter, not too hot in summer and a moderate climate all year round. La Gomera, as in all the Canary Islands, has a very mild climate all year round, with temperatures varying minimally throughout the year.
This is caused by the Northeast Passat and a branch of the Canary River, which ensures almost uniform temperatures throughout the year (15-22 degrees).
However, it is also necessary to take into account the climate zones on the island.
It may well be cloudy and rainy in the north, with bright blue skies and the sun shining in the south at the same time. In December, January and February it can get really fresh and cool for Canarian conditions. Never below freezing but around 10 degrees already. During this time we heat the ovens and make ourselves comfortable before.

Before booking, please consider whether you would like to spend a beach holiday or nature holiday.
Our house is located in the forest, the Cabana is nestled among trees, which means that when the nights are warm, it is quiet, you can hear the birds, crickets and in the rain also the frogs and nothing else. If it rains or storms, what happens in autumn, the cabana (wooden hut) works and the wind rushes through the forest and around the house (Passat Winde). If your heart jumps at “Grizzly Adams”, “Into the wild” or Thoreau, you are in the right place. If your heart beats for Wifi, Shopping, Party, you won't feel comfortable here. You have to decide, we look forward to seeing you.

Location

Vallehermoso , La Gomera, Spain

There is no direct and immediate neighborhood, so you can spend a quiet holiday and relaxing days here. However, it may be that when you go for a walk, you occasionally meet one of our two donkeys, a cat or a chicken, who walk freely around the grounds.
So you hear a iah or Kikeriki again and again throughout the day.
In addition, there are 3 cats living outside, frogs (which you can only hear when it rains and they greet the same quaking) and different free and local bird species, such as the Kanarenzilbzalb or the laurel pigeon.
Anyone who has read our reviews will get a good impression of how it is here with us.
In the surrounding area there are some restaurants that offer Gomer cuisine.
The nearest major locations are:
Agulo (6km), Hermigua (10km), Vallehermoso (15km).
The Valle Gran Rey is about 41km (about 1 hr drive)
