We recently spent a week at the Villa Las Tecas (Jay has 2 properties), this is the one located much closer to the beach. The hosts, Kevin & Marie, who live at the villa, were wonderful & helped us with many requests. They made our stay and were very nice to us! The villa itself had everything we needed for the stay including a kitchen, pool, etc. It's a little rustic and has some older bedding, towels, etc. It could use a bit of an update, but is fine for a week as long as you aren't expecting a fancy resort. It is about a 10 minute walk to one of the beaches and about a 35-45 minute walk to the main beach/town of Nosara. There are a couple of restaurants close by, but we mostly ended up walking to the town. It's difficult to get around (we didn't rent a car and the roads are all gravel - there are no cabs around), so we ended up walking everywhere. It gets very dark at night so highly recommend bringing flash lights. There are also lots of critters so check your stuff before wearing it.
A very quiet spot for mellow days. The property is managed by a very sweet couple. Everyone was very helpful. It is a bit of a walk from surf spots. I strongly recommend renting a vehicle or a bike if you plan on surfing at Playa Guiones. If your interested in a mellow beach one of the most picturesque beaches in costa rica is a short walk away.
