And yes the neighborhood is in transition. I have built 3 new houses on this street and a 4th one just a few blocks over. I Iived in the main house for 2.5 years before moving into the 4th house a few blocks away. There is also more new construction being built on the street. Two luxury townhouses built across the street and down a few doors have sold last year, and 4 new high end townhouse were just finished and listed this month!! The church on the corner between my house and these 4 new townhouses just bought the 3 older homes between my house and the church. I am working with the church to get these houses torn down....hopefully this year!
UPDATE!! Those houses are gone! And 2 more houses are getting totally rehabbed!!free to use the patio area to take a break
PLEASE NOTE - HOLIDAYS AND WEEKENDS ARE 2 NIGHT MINIMUM
Recent Review by Chyna describing the main house and neighborhood:
What a beautiful and quiet house! This is new construction in a historic district, so it has the character and charm of a home that is much older with the amenities and cleanliness of a brand new property. My only regret is that we were so busy that we didn't get to spend much time in the house. The beds were very comfortable (MUCH better than the typical hotel bed), the kitchen was gorgeous and stocked with water, soda, coffee, hot chocolate, etc, there's a great walk-in closet in the master bedroom plus a large soaking tub in the master bath. The layout was perfect for a family or two couples, as the bedrooms each have their own bathroom and are situated on opposite sides of the house for maximum privacy. We didn't get to use the courtyard, but it is very charming, with a grill and nice deck/patio area. The neighborhood is close to everything - only about five minutes from downtown and 10 or so from Opry Mills, the Grand Ole Opry, etc. It is a transitional area so some of the houses in the neighborhood are run down - it's only a matter of time before they'll be snapped up and restored, but people who aren't used to staying in neighborhoods like this might be caught off guard. That being said, it was very quiet and safe and I had no concerns being there with my family. Rick was very responsive and wonderful to deal with, and you could tell how much he loves this house. He built it himself and only recently moved out, and it has been well-cared for. The decor is very tasteful with plenty of art, comfortable furniture, televisions in the living room and both bedrooms. This was our first AirBnB experience and it couldn't have been better!
Check out this video of the area:
You will have your own parking space behind the Studio on a concrete pad off the alley. Feel free to use the patio area.
Interaction with Guests
I'm just a few blocks over...give me a shout if you need anything!!
Wow...Lots of new homes being built and older homes being renovated on this street!
If you don't have a car I suggest downloading the LYFT or Uber application to your smartphone. This is definitely the best and cheapest way to get around the city by auto. It's about a $7 ride to the downtown entertainment district! Or you could walk (app 15 mins) to the Farmers Market and Bicentennial Mall State Park area. There you can rent bikes or catch the free downtown bus loop (Music City Circuit) that runs from 6 am till 6 pm at 7th and Harrison.

I know your not coming to Nashville to visit me, but i will do my best to provide a great place to stay while you are in Nashville! I am a single Dad with 2 great kids off to college! I built this home 3 years ago and love living near downtown Nashville. I am an avid walker and most weeks put in 15 to 20 miles just walking from my home to the Historical Germantown area, Bicentennial Mall State Park, Farmers Market, State Capital, Legislative Plaza, TPAC, then on to Lower Broad, 2nd Ave, and Riverfront park where all the honky tonks are located! That total distance is just a little over 2 miles each way.
I was in the USAF and Tennessee Air Guard for 13 years where i was a navigator on C-130's. After my military life i became a General Contractor and started my own business. After being in the country for so long i decided to try the city life. I bought a vacant lot in this historical overlay district and loved it. Since then I have built 2 more homes on this street. I do love this up and coming neighborhood.
I also love to hike the mountains! I have summed 3 12,000 foot peaks in the Rockies and last summer my son and I summed 14,254 foot Long's Peak in Rocky Mountain National Park. I must admit - it kicked my ass ... but wow!... what a view! Leaves no doubt there is a God! I also love to kayak and travel. But the best times are with the kids. We love to play strategy board games..Settlers of Catan, Acquire, and Cashflow. I love Axis and Allies, but its hard to get them to play that! I also play in a Texas holdem Poker League...for points...not for cash!
UPDATE: That's my first grandbaby...Walt....Born 19 November 2012!!
