Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
A primitive cluster of tents and cottages will take you back in time. 3 canvas platform tents, like you'd see at an old school Boy Scout Camp. Next up, is a mini a-frame cabin. Then a traditional tipi. Perched together on a bluff overlooking the lake and wetlands, on the edge of the woods. Nearby is the vintage stick frame Sterlingworth Cabin. No frills, no power, a short walk to your "camp latrine" and showers. And access to all that Camp Wandawega has to offer.

The space
Please note: the airbnb calendar is the most up-to-date record of avails, so pretty please do not contact us outside of airbnb asking about dates. Please also see our other listings on airbnb.
Wandawega Lake Resort/Camp Wandawega is a private friends & family retreat, just making initial forays into welcoming strangers into our home. So please bear with us as we attempt to try on our ill-fitting innkeeper's hats : ) If you require an immediate response, lots of hand-holding and attention to detail, then this just might not be the best fit for you. OK, you've been warned : )

GUESTS AREN'T RENTING a rustic campground and cabins as much as they are renting the old school summer camp experience, complete with self-guided activities such as archery, hiking, canoeing, fishing, swimming, tennis, volleyball, basketball, etc. When you are our guest, all of the activities are included. The fact that we have no modern conveniences is part of our charm. The adventure will start with you trekking your gear from our parking lot, across the field & up our hiking steps to your Camping spot. If you're not sure this is for you, we suggest arranging a tour before booking.

This hilltop campground overlooks a pristine lake and wetlands, nestled within the historic Wandawega Lake Resort, aka Camp Wandawega. The platform tents are modestly appointed in period furnishings, including six WWII surplus camp cots, two per tent. The A-frame has two single sleeping platforms/cots, the tipi has two camping cots, as does the Sterlingworth Cabin. Guests will have access to your own dedicated "Camp Latrine" restrooms (think porta-potty), a cold water washing sink, as well as nearby camp showers (with hot water). Outdoor grills are also available. As is delivery or carryout from a number of nearby restaurants. You'll be living out of your own coolers. Ice, beer, wine, snacks, etc. are available at the nearby Mobil on Cty A or Piggly Wiggly in nearby Elkhorn. And you can use your Instacart account to have Piggly Wiggly delivered.

The published rate accounts for groups of up to 10. If you have a slightly smaller group, you'd still rent this entire camping cluster, and we can sometimes adjust the rate a bit to reflect a smaller headcount. Bookings available on a limited basis, primarily from Memorial Day to Labor Day, with some exceptions in the early and late parts of the season, weather permitting.

Our community is residential and rural, so there are no shops or cafes to walk to. Once you pull in to Camp for your stay, chances are you won't use your car again till it's time to leave. There's plenty to do here at Camp to keep you and yours occupied during your stay.
