Colleen's studio was a great base for us to explore the west coast of the big island. We were impressed with how immaculately clean the place was when we got there, and both Colleen and Gary were there to welcome us and give us advice on where to go for good beaches. They even left us some tasty fruit in a welcome basket which was a great little gift.
The photos on the listing are a very good representation of the place. We also found the kitchen was very well equipped with oil, salt, pepper, sugar, soy sauce, pots, pans, cutlery, glasses, drip coffee machine, toaster, appliances, etc. Colleen also provided basic toiletries such as soap, shampoo, towels, etc.
The beach gear was a really great thought too. We made use of a couple of folding chairs, body boards, beach towels, coolers, and beach umbrellas.
Although the place is a little ways to restaurants and supermarkets (about 20 minutes drive), overall this was a great place to stay and great value. Thanks Colleen and Gary!
Colleen was very gracious and hospitable! She greeted us on our arrival from her driveway as we got a little lost coming from Kona airport. The street names were unfamiliar to us as this was our first time to Hawaii.
She showed us around and had lots of information to share. She showed us to our studio which was immaculately clean. There was a fresh basket of papayas and Mauna Loa chocolates waiting for us. She had everything prepared, soaps, shampoo and even coolers, beach umbrella and two portable chairs to take with us during our stay.
We loved meeting her and her husband, learning about their lifestyle and history on the island. They're both very hard workers and we were so happy to have met them and stayed there during our vacation.
We will definitely come back and recommend Colleen's place to friends and family!
Thanks for everything Colleen.
This was our first airbnb experience and it won't be our last! Colleen and Gary were great hosts. Colleen was waiting outside for us to arrive. She had fruit and snacks for us on the table. The studio was clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen was stocked and there were chairs, coolers and an umbrella for us to use when going to the beach. We really enjoyed our stay here. Thanks Colleen!
The reservation was canceled 40 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We loved our stay at Colleen's Studio. Colleen and her husband were both excellent hosts and the studio is was perfect! Colleen made sure we were comfortable and was always quick to respond. The studio is super clean and cozy and has great access to beaches, places to eat and even easy to get to other points on the island. The bed is also wonderful. We didn't want to leave!
Colleen welcomed us the minute we pulled into the driveway. She gave us a quick tour to begin our two week stay since we were tired after a long day of travel from Colorado. The coolers and chairs were very helpful on our venture to watch the Ironman race nearby & a few trips to the beach. We loved everything about the studio especially the reading materials, playing cards & swivel tv. I hope we can go back soon!
The word to describe Colleen and Gary's studio is plain PERFECT. We spent almost 2 weeks at the studio. We arrived very late after a 30 hour trip from Austria and Colleen greeted as very warmly and showed us around. There was fresh fruit and water in the fridge (Big plus).
The first impression we had when entering the studio was that the pictures on Airbnb don't even come close to capturing how beautiful the studio is. We immediately fell in love with this place.
You will find everything you need. Kitchen is fully equipped and most importantly we were well equipped for our day trips (tin foil, tupperware, cooler etc.). If you need any extras Colleen and Gary are more than happy to assist.
All in all our stay felt very much like home away from home. There was absolutely nothing we missed. I most definitely recommend this gem to anyone planning a trip to the Big Island.
@ Colleen and Gary: Once more MAHALO for everything!!! Big ALOHA
