This is a perfect place to stay in Valparaiso, warm and cosy with breathtaking views across the harbour to Vina del Mar. This little piece of paradise is close to many interesting bars, cafes and restaurants. Bart was very quick in responding and his email and booklet in the apartment was very informative and made it easy for us to find our way around. Thank you for the welcome bottle of vino tinto which was throughly enjoyable on our arrival. If we are ever back in "Valparaiso" we would definitely be back to stay! Thanks Bart

Bart is a great host. He provides lots of information about Valparaiso (transportation, markets, sights, etc.) And, he has excellent restaurant recommendations for the neighborhood. He was very accommodating when the WIFI router for our unit crashed - giving us keys to another unit so we could access its router. The unit itself is very comfortable. But, it is located on a very steep hill (so build up your leg muscles before your trip!).

Thank you, Bart! Bart is an exceptional host. He has welcomed us very nicely to Valparaiso. He showed us around and was always there when we needed him. The apartment lies wonderfully over the hills of Valparaiso making it a great stay. We highly recommend staying at Valparaiso Experience! Stefan & Katriina

Upon arriving, we were greater by John who helped us get set up. The scheduled apartment was cleaned, but not set up for new guests- so they upgraded us to a beautiful ocean front place. Every morning I woke up to a beautiful view, the smell of fresh ocean, and a wonderful breeze. I'd definitely stay with Bart again- and recommend this apartment fully!

We spent two fantastic weeks in this apartment and it simply could not have been better! The space is comfortable, with plenty of room and the location is perfect for quickly getting into town, but also secluded and quiet. The garden is a beautiful spot for enjoying the view and there is a grill for cooking. The kitchen is fully equipped and we made several big meals there with food bought in the amazing local markets. We enjoyed having guests over and eating outside with the incredible view of Valparaiso harbor as our backdrop. This is a very peaceful spot! The neighborhood felt very safe and we enjoyed exploring both up and down the hill. La Sabestiana, Pablo Neruda's Valparaiso home is a 15 minute walk up the hill and there are some great restaurants nearby. We had a fabulous meal at Espiritu Santo and there's a wonderful little French bakery nearby as well - Le Septième which has fantastic croissant, macarons and other baked goods. We also spent an afternoon touring the beautiful cemetery nearby and lost whole days wandering around the city enjoying spectacular views and the amazing street art that is everywhere. We used the car rental service Bart suggested and had a terrific time visiting Isla Negra (Neruda's seaside home), Quintay for a beach day and Las Cruces. The surrounding area is beautiful and we enjoyed very scenic drives through the mountains and valleys. Driving up and down the hills around the city is a trip! Make sure to rent a manual car as it makes it easier to get around the steep terrain. We were able to easily park just up the hill from the apartment. As others have mentioned the apartment is up a steep hill, so be prepared for some great walks. At night if we didn't feel like walking up the hill after an evening out, it was very easy and inexpensive to take a collectivo (shared taxi) up to the apartment. We were fortunate to be in town during both a music festival and Valparatango (a week long tango festival). There were free concerts all over the city and every night something fun to experience. We met some great people including our very kind upstairs neighbor, John, who was very helpful and fun to talk to and Zolta, who lives next door. Wonderful people! Bart is a kind and gracious host and has many great recommendations for day trips, restaurants and things to do in the area. He was always available with advice or to help out or just for a great chat. He has truly created an oasis and we felt very fortunate to stay here. We will definitely book again if we return to the area and highly recommend this listing.
