The room matches the description. The house's common area is quite spacious. It is comprised of a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room, and a living room (the latter two aren't fully separated, i.e. there's no door between them). So despite the room as such being relatively small, one nonetheless has quite ample living space. Moreover, the house is conveniently located close to the metro station Georgia Ave/Petworth (the walk takes less than five minutes). Supermarkets, a drug store, and a couple of fast food restaurants are in walking distance as well. The area in general is largely residential and, as far as I can judge, absolutely safe.
Val is a very responsive host and answers all requests very promptly. Whenever I sent her a text she answered immediately. Communicating with her, consequently, is very easy. Furthermore, she gave me a short tour of the area upon my arrival in DC so that I could immediately get an impression of the area I was living at.
Hence, I really enjoyed staying at Val's place.
The room was not as advertised. I did not stay longer then 15 minutes and had to find emergency lodging. I was not reimbursed by Pat for the unused room. Stay some where else.
Why didn't you call me on my cell phone? The room clearly stated that it was another location. If you had told me that you did not want to stay at that location, I would have given you a room in my house. For me to hear about it after the fact is unfair. So you write a bad review and did not contact me. I
We had a very pleasant stay at Val's house. The room looks actually nicer in real life than on the photo :-) We were able to use the kitchen whenever we wanted and also the two other house mates were very freindly and open minded people.
Everything pretty much as expected, only downside is that, apparently, if you ask people on the street for directions, they're likely to send you off the wrong way ;)
Great stay and frankly I can't wait to go back.
You will not meet a nicer group of people. Excellent.
Another great stay. I can't think of a nicer place to stay when I'm in DC! Just like a second home :)
