This is a large, clean room on the ground floor, right by the entrance.
***PLEASE READ THE INFO BELOW BEFORE BOOKING!***
Why is this room so cheap you ask? A few reasons:
1. I am just trying to cover my expenses while I travel.
2. This room is not silent. You can hear the neighbors television through the wall. I personally am not bothered but if you need absolute silence this is not the place for you. I put in earplugs to sleep and it has never been an issue.
You will have access to your room and to the living area downstairs - living room with a big sofa and a kitchen/dining room, and downstairs bathroom.
Interaction with Guests
Most of the time, one, two or three of us are traveling. When we are around, we are very relaxed and enjoy evenings in front of Game of Thrones and play a bit of Playstation. We sometimes cook together.
Great neighborhood with lovely pubs and local shops and cafes. The room looks out over the new campus which is currently being constructed. Although building works are happening, it is quite quiet and we are not disturbed by them.
Busses to the centre are nearby, the local tram (luas) is a short walk away in Smithfield. Bikes available. Walking to the centre takes around 30 mins.
Other Things to Note
We are chilled out about the house and expect you to be too. We keep tidy and tidy up after ourselves and clean about once a week.
Please do not use the internet for any torrenting or downloaded pirated material, we don't want fines!
I am happy to lend you my bike (assuming I didn't take it with me), but with just a few conditions:
+BE CAREFUL - not so much for the bike, but for yourself. If you're not familiar with riding on the left side of the road, the city can get hectic.
+If you damage the bike, please repair it, I'd rather not have to go to the shop or do it myself.
+Please lock up the bike. LOTS of bikes get stolen in Dublin so lock it up with the cable and the U-Lock, and don't leave it out in the open overnight. If it gets stolen while you're using it, I have faith that you'll reimburse me for its cost...I would do the same :)
Staying at Jonathan's house was a great experience, the house is very cozy, nice and clean, the room I stayed was very spacious. The location is also very good, I managed to go walking to every place I wanted. There were some days that I found myself there alone, but I felt very comfortable with the place so I had no worries, the firsts days the noises in the house made it difficult to sleep, but soon I got used to it.
Good clean house and room. Had a nice stay with very friendly persons. And It's located on a good location in Dublin.
I had such a wonderful stay in Jonathan's room in Stoneybatter. The bedroom was spacious, clean and exactly as pictured. Jonathan's roommates are lovely! Super welcoming, helpful and fun. Check-in was a breeze and Jonathan was responsive and timely.
The neighborhood has something to offer for every kind of traveler. If you're looking for authentic Dublin culture, Stoneybatter and Smithfield are exactly where you want to be. If you're looking for something more touristic, the bus at the top of the block puts you right at the center on O'Connell Street or a few stops further into Temple Bar in just 10 minutes. If like me you appreciate walking, you get into the center on foot in 25 minutes. You can also walk over to Phoenix park. Location really can't be beat.
The common space in the house is cozy and the garden out back is a lovely plus. The wifi works great, the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need, and the atmosphere is very relaxed.
I recommend this space and would definitely stay here again in the future.
Great experience overall. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming. Very good communication and everything was as described. Good location, far enough away from the central madness of Temple Bar while still within walking distance of the tourist areas. Another person cancelled their reservation after me so I was thrilled to be able to extend my stay by an extra week.
Nice and clean room.
The neighbors were a bit loud, but as Jonathan already mentioned that I brought earplugs and then it wasn't a problem anymore.
His roommate was really nice and nice to be around.
Jonathan was very helpful, he always replied quickly :)
The hosts are very niceeven though I do not see them often because of their work. I still have have a drink with Ed's and his friends when I arrived. They are always there to answer our questions. And advise us the best pubs in Dublin! Neighborhood and quiet (under construction during my stay), but rather quiet. For access to the city center, do not be afraid to walk a bit, about 30 minutes, but for the less brave hosts make available a bike.
Jonathan was a gracious host and made sure I was well taken care of. He provided numerous options for places to have a bite and listen to live music. The room was spacious, tidy and provided all the things I needed. There is a beautiful garden out back that is wonderful to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. I recommend this place to anyone interested in staying in a home while in Dublin.
