  • The cottage in hokitika was (email hidden) has everything necessary for a short (website hidden) represents a typical feel (email hidden) Bach close to the sea . the sea is audible but not visible from the house. Supermarket and shops are quite close :10-15 minute walk. Ann was a good communicator and I would stay there again.

  • We adored Ann's cottage and Hokitika! I only wish we could have stayed longer. Definitely stay at the cottage for at least two whole days if you can. This will give you time to enjoy the cottage, the beach, the flowers, and the food in town. We especially appreciated that Ann could meet us at the bus stop and give us a bit of a tour. We look forward to coming back :)

  • We were sorry not to meet Ann but enjoyed our stay in her cottage. If you are looking for designer boutique style accommodation this is not the place for you, but if you want a very good value for money sweet cottage, very clean with a big comfortable double bed you will like it here! Short walk to spectacular beach, pretty drive to see the blue gorge and the waterfalls. Great to catch up on washing using the washing machine and dryer. Very grateful that liquid to use in machine was provided. Wilderness gallery in village has amazing photos of the local area for sale.

  • Great cottage in a very good location for walking the beach as well as walking into the little town center. Appreciated having a washing machine.

  • We loved staying in Ann's cottage and felt immediately at home there. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. There is a proper kitchen and excellent laundry. It's worth doing a washing just to hang the clothes out on the amazing washing line in the garden!
We just wished we could have stayed longer - and hope very much to return again one day.

  • We didn't met Ann, but the cottage was clean, cosy and close to the beach. It has 2 bedrooms a nice living room and good washing facilities. The bathroom is a little old but everything works fine. The cottage is private and we loved it.

  • Ann's quaint cottage was impeccably clean and delightfully decorated with an eye for detail. The cottage retained the charm of an original yet restored seaside cottage. Location was an easy stroll from the main shops and an even shorter stroll to the beach.

  • Ann's cottage was a perfect little home for us on our travels. We loved the opportunity to cook our own meal in the kitchen. We had a wonderful bed and great living room space to enjoy. A bit too cold and windy to enjoy the beach only steps away but definitely a fantastic location. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a comfy place to rest and relax and just feel at home.

I'm a traveller by nature so I enjoy hosting other travellers. I like to read, knit and garden but never seem to have the time. I've just rekindled an interest in my family heritage. I've lived and worked in this area for over 30 years. The wonderful scenery, fresh air and peaceful atmosphere are the things that draw me back. ....And of course there's a little cottage by the sea that I love so much! I've travelled a lot in Australia, more recently on a short trip to France using Airbnb. It's a great way to travel and know that you'll find good accommodation. I've stayed in every type of accommodation from Backpackers, free accommodation exchanges with other people to upmarket hotels and home stays. I hope you enjoy my cottage. Motto?... Fame is a vapour, popularity is an accident. Riches take wings but that which endures is character.
