This is a spectacular spot. Right on the edge of a tidal estuary, the house has magnificent views over the water to the Kina Peninsula and the Abel Tasman and Kahurangi National Parks. We find it a delight to be able to sit on our deck at sunset and watch the interplay of light and tides and breeze on the water and sand. Or wander through our half-acre property with its wonderful variety of mature fruit trees and watch the tui and other native birds feed from the water bowl.

The space
We have renovated our 1960s villa to include this purpose-designed studio/apartment, which is physically part of the main house, but has its own separate entrance and is quiet, private and self-contained. There is also ample off-street parking.
Amenities include: a queen-sized bed, a double sofa-bed, top quality linen and fluffy towels, electric blanket, heating and air conditioning. The main room is fully carpeted and has a comfortable sofa, a flat-screen TV, DVD player, free wifi, digital clock, clothes rack and hangers, suitcase rack, bedside tables and reading lamps. One of the power points also has a double USB charging outlet for your phone and computer; there is also small table and chairs. Outside, your deck, with views of the inlet and orchard, has a table and chairs where you can enjoy a glass or two at the end of the day.
The kitchen area includes a bench and sink, fridge, electric frying pan, kettle, toaster, microwave, cutlery, chopping board, crockery and glassware. We supply tea, coffee, milk, sugar and salt and pepper. We can also provide a simple continental breakfast (extra charge applies) on request, with advanced notice. There are basic cooking facilities in the room.
The bathroom contains fluffy quality towels, a spacious glass shower, a hand basin/vanity unit, a toilet, a heated towel rail, a room heater and a night-light. We provide quality shampoo, conditioner, shower and hand gel and a hairdryer. The apartment sleeps two but there’s provision for additional guests as the sofa turns into a double bed.
We are located in an area with working orchards so at certain times of the year you will hear machinery working in the background during daylight hours. Some road noise is also possible during moring/evening peak hours in daylight hours.
NOTE: We have adopted AirBnB's Cleaning Protocol in view of the Covid-19 virus. We are taking special care with our cleaning and disinfecting of all surfaces; we take the health and safety of our guests seriously. Please let us know if you have any concerns.

Guest access
Guests are welcome to wander through our large orchard located right in front of the deck and apartment.

Other things to note
How to find us: If you are using GPS to get here, note that we are in Martin Loop, not Martin Road. We are just off the Coastal Highway (State Highway 60).
Eating establishments: there are a number of cafes, pubs, wineries and restaurants within 10 minutes' drive, either in Mapua or Motueka. Further information is provided in the room compendium.
