About this listing
This is my breezy modern apartment on the quaint strip of Ormond road in Elwood Village. It has the feel of a boutique hotel suite with an equipped kitchen at your disposal and free wifi.
My apartment is a 5 min walk from the beach. Living here feels like a beach vacation at the end of every work day even though it’s only 8k South from the Melbourne CBD.
I love to travel and enjoy weekend trips away often. The apartment has a very homely feel filled with objects from my travels and books I enjoy. There will be space for you to hang and unpack your clothes in the wardrobe and in the four basket drawers opposite the bed. The bed will be made with fresh linens and clean towels will be hanging in the bathroom. Please help yourself to any food, tea and coffee in the kitchen if you feel like cooking.
You are also welcome to play any instruments you may find laying around but please be gentle with them as they are precious to me.
Spring & Summer are busy times by the beach and I accept bookings on a first come first serve basis. So to avoid missing out on your required dates, make sure to send a booking request along with your inquiry.

Interaction with Guests
I like to keep communication with guests via Airbnb (unless an emergency) so that there is a clear record of correspondence.
Many of the streets in Elwood are named after things related to the beach and, after famous writers, essayists and poets, such as Shakespeare Grove, Dickens Street, Milton Street, Wordsworth Street, Byron Street, Keats Street, Tennyson Street, Ruskin Street and Shelley Street.
The Village is a detour from the main thoroughfares of Beach Road and Nepean Hwy, so there is little tourist traffic.
The charming restaurant 'Elwood Food & Wine' is directly beneath our apartment building which has a midweek special and live music on Sunday nights. There are many other cool crafty boutiques, restaurants, bars, supermarkets, grocers and a post office all walking distance from the village.
The Elwood Lounge 49-51 Glenhuntly rd - live music, pool tables
Blue Tongue 62 Ormond Rd - brasserie with great wine selection
Elwood Food and Wine - directly below my apartment.
Sails on the bay - 15 Elwood Foreshore - seafood fine dining.
Dandelion - 133 Ormond rd - modern Vietnamese fine dining.
The Milton - Great cocktails
Combi Coffee- the best coffee in Elwood
You do not need to have a car staying in Elwood as there are plenty of public transport options. First you will need to purchase a Myki card from either the news-agency on Ormond road or the 7-Eleven on Glenhuntly rd. If you are wanting to have a night out in St Kilda you have plenty of transport options. You can catch a taxi home ($9-$12), walk 15min, bus 600 or 606 from Barkley Street, St Kilda drops you off out front of my building, you can also catch tram 67 all the way into the city or the Sandringham train from Elsternwick station (only an 8min walk).
There are four buses which run along Ormond Rd and the stop is right out side of the building. Also If you walk to Glenhuntly road which runs parallel to Ormond rd you can catch the BUS #247 Elsternwick - Clifton Hill via St Kilda also.
You can also catch the Sandringham line train at Elsternwick Railway Station (Elsternwick) which is only about a 12 minute walk up st Kilda st and then right onto Glenhuntly Rd.
You can also take the #67 Melbourne University - Carnegie tram into the city from the Hotham st and Brighton Road stop.
If you are wanting to have a night out in St Kilda, you can catch a taxi home ($10), walk the 15min or catch the tram 67 which runs along Nepean hwy. There are however plenty of dining and nightlife options in Elwood which are walking distance.
I kindly ask guests to vacate at check out time which is 11am. Please make sure to lock the apartment when you leave as it doesn't self lock.
Please wash your dishes (or load the dishwasher and set it to wash) and empty out all rubbish when you leave (rubbish bins are located on level B) including all 'perishable' food items from the fridge leaving the apartment as tidy as you found it.
Absolutely no smoking in my home. You may smoke on the lovely balcony but please don't ash on the floor.
No pets allowed
About the Host, Marta
I'm a super clean & tidy, non-smoking singer/songwriter. I spend a great deal of time between Canada, U.S and Australia due to work so I am constantly using Airb&b as both a tenant and landlord.
As a tenant I'm twice a home owner and will look after your place like it were my own. I'm also a lover of animals and all things beautiful.
As a landlord, I communicate well and hope to make your stay a lovely one.
