Other Things to Note
This is a hiking, biking kind of place.
Please no raging parties. We do have neighbors across the seasonal creek that need some quiet time after 10 pm. Voices carry up the canyon as well. We have cable music stations but not big speakers. Enjoy yourself.
Tim's cabin is well maintained and clean. It was a perfect bounce-pad for our hiking excursions. The bar on your way in is a chill place, mostly visited by locals with great prices and beer.
I stayed at the "Yellow Cottage" while I was in the Nicasio area working at Skywalker Ranch on Lucas Valley Road and I needed a place for me and my family. It was the perfect fit! Less than 15 minutes drive to the ranch, and nestled among the trees, it was clean, newly remodeled and had everything we needed and more - a full kitchen and bath, washer and dryer, outdoor hot-tub and fire pit, comfy bed and cable TV. My kids loved the sleeping loft , toasting marshmellows on the fire and the daily visits by a pair of deer. My husband had a fantastic time cycling right from our doorstep. There was a great park just down the street and the wonderful Redwoods at Samuel P Taylor State Park just moments away. Truly a wonderful place to stay - we were actually sad to leave!
Tim was super helpful and available and the cottage surpassed the reviews and photos. Four of us stayed (a couple and two more singles) and were very comfortable. We were invited to a block party and neighbors even guided us to various gorgeous trail heads right at the top of the street. Fabulous! Everything appeared newly remodeled and was very well stocked.
My husband, adult daughter and I had a nice stay at this cabin. The only surprise was that the loft is only accessible via a steep ladder and it was only 3-4 feet high, so worked for sleeping, but not really for even changing clothes. Maybe this was clear in the listing but I had missed it. I was glad our daughter was willing to sleep up there, it wouldn't have worked for me. The hot tub in the back yard was nice, as was the small gas Fire pit. The kitchen dishes and utensils were sparse, but adequate. We appreciated the washer and dryer. There's no real view, but the cabin is landscaped well. It's very convenient to activities in the Point Reyes area.
A lovely, spacious and light-filled cottage with everything we needed for our stay. An excellent choice-- I would recommend this to my own friends! Highly recommend.
We had a wonderful time and experience once again. This was our second time at Tim's place. He had kindly prepared the home for our arrival, the hot tub was warmed up, the lights were on to make our late time arrival easier. We felt really welcome. It's a wonderful place to spend a restful weekend in nature, with easy access to great hikes and good eats.
