We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Angel's home for so many reasons!
1. It is an incredible location. We walked most everywhere and when we didn't, our Lyft rides only cost $5-7.
2. The home is comfortable and we absolutely felt at home. Angel has a lot of great extra touches including an area guide (which we used extensively) and unique amenities like the outdoor shower (incredibly refreshing after a bike ride around the area).
3. We got to spend a little time talking with Angel and even enjoyed some homemade soup made with ingredients from her garden. She recommended a dinner location (Lambert's-- YUM!) and an after dinner music joint (The White Horse) and we enjoyed both tremendously.
All in all, our time in Austin was more enjoyable thanks to Angel and her welcoming personality and home. Highly recommend! Thank you for everything!
I had a great time staying at Angel's place. The location is fantastic and the room is outfitted with super cute, vintage furnishings. Angel was a wonderful host, helping with dinner and entertainment suggestions. Highly recommend!
Angel was very accommodating for my first Airbnb booking. Though she was out of town she was always sure to get back to me right away. Her house is cozy and in a great spot to new areas in East downtown Austin and just a short User or bike ride to downtown. I had a last minute change with guest, and Angel was able to allow an extra person to stay. The only thing I learned was to make sure that my friends and I knew that another room was going to be taken by other guests one of the nights we were there, i.e. we'd have to share the bathroom. Overall, great host and good first experience.
Angel was very welcoming and accommodating. She has a great place in a very walkable location, and provided many recommendations for places to eat and drink in the neighborhood.
One thing to consider: if you're looking for a super-private stay, this may not be the best fit. There were several other guests staying at the same time, which made for a bit of crowding at breakfast and during bathroom 'rush hour' times.

About the Host, Angel
I love sharing my home with friends and strangers alike. I've lived in Austin for 13 years and am happy to point you to spots off the beaten path (Cathedral of Junk) to the sparkling jewels in the middle of the city (Barton Springs). I'm a User-Experience Designer for a Clean Tech/Energy Management start-up. I love the challenge and rewards of conserving in all aspects of life. I enjoy bike riding, brewing and drinking craft beer, gardening, petting my chickens, sewing and DIY projects, seeing live music, traveling, and eating great food. I've only been to 13 countries and 25 states. I most recently spent a few months in Hawaii living off grid on a living farm that is doing reforestation on the Big Island.
