About this listing
My roomy, light-filled studio is romantic, private and thoroughly comfortable - & right in the heart of Melbourne famous city laneways. With attractions, shops, fantastic restaurants and great public transport on the doorstep, you'll appreciate the leafy treetops and spectacular view as much as clean, modern convenience and cosy home decor.
With beautiful high ceilings, triple-brick white walls, towering lead-light windows, an abundance of beautiful natural light and all modern conveniences, my apartment is both an ocean of serenity and in the perfect centre of Melbourne's bustling CBD.
Among the pretty treetops of a heritage innercity area, the self-contained studio has spectacular views of Melbourne's attractions, public transport right on the doorstep and all the on-foot access you require to Melbourne's great department stores and boutiques, world-class museums and famous restaurants and cafe, and it's a full security building. No hotel in the city is as central to the action. High-speed internet is provided free of charge. There's a full bathroom with bath, own laundry and a modern kitchen facilities with a pantry you are welcome to make use of. Perfect for 1, comfortable for 2 and even do-able for three.
My regular bed is a single loft bunk, but there is also a fantastic IKEA daybed that becomes a real king-sized bed to suit a couple, or packs up to be a couch.
It's a great place for entertaining, and the dining room table seats four, but it's an equally comfortable place to chill out.
The neighbourhood is incredibly safe, with plenty of people around, but the flat is marvellously quiet. The gentle sound of a tram bell, birds or wind in the treetops is the best city soundscape there is.
I'm a writer, so my home is also my workplace. For this reason, if you're in Melbourne on a working visit, you'll be incredibly productive here. There are lots of powerpoints and a variety of different spaces for you to rest a laptop, and a variety of lighting is designed with concentration in mind. However, if you want to relax at home, this apartment is a sanctuary.
I leave a very detailed manual for my guests with instructions for everything in the flat as well as some top tips to hidden local treasures, like my favourite vintage stores, bars and hot chocolate hideouts.
I adore living here and I guarantee that you will, too. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
You have the whole apartment to enjoy. I leave you with a detailed manual so you can relax in a comforting knowledge of where everything is and how to use it.
Interaction with guests
Someone will be here to let you in, but you'll be left happily alone once the key is handed over. So you can get the most out of your stay, however, I or my delegated "concierge" is only ever a phone call or email away to help you out. I particularly love giving city tips!
This neighbourhood is as vibrant as it is classy. With the best boutiques and department stores metres from the apartment, there are many pretty things and people about. The blocks north of here constitute the hip, innercity Asian student neighbourhood with fun shops and restaurants. To the south are the glorious laneways and the ultra-posh neighbourhood of Collins St. In the dead centre of the city, it's also really safe, as there are always lights on and people about. A 24 hour McDonalds across the road keeps a reassuring eye on the street.
As the dead centre of the city, this address is at the hub of all Melbourne public transport. You will not need a car while you are here.
Other things to note
I've styled the apartment with minimal effects to make the space as much yours as possible. Tea and milk will be waiting for you, lovely fresh towels and a clean bed with good sheets. There is a pantry full of bits and pieces you can use for cooking and please use up whatever other guests have left behind in the fridge! Enjoy the bath and make the most of your own space for your stay.
House rules are simple: please just leave the flat as you find it (though I'll take care of washing the sheets and towels). Make sure the dishes are in the dishwasher, the surfaces wiped down and a quick vacuum given to the floors.
No smoking, no pets, and instructions to how everything works is covered in the manual that I leave for you.
NOTE: to maximise your experience, I employ a cleaner, and the flat is minimum 2-night stay to make a good clean possible.

Hi there, I am a writer who lives in the wonderful CBD of Melbourne. I have a super-frantic work schedule and am often called intercity, interstate or overseas at short notice. As my apartment is so gorgeous, I really enjoy allowing other people to experience its views, serenity and perfect innercity location while I'm away.
