Overall a very enjoyable experience. Both Heidi and Peter were very nice and informed us on some of the things to the in the area and in other parts of Costa Rica as well. Pura Vida!
I did not have the have the pleasure of meeting Peter but I was welcomed with open arms by Heidy. Heidy was a true pleasure. She assisted me in setting up a tour/mapping my way through Fortuna. The guest house is located in the thick of all the restaurants/stores/tourist information centers. The area around the guest house was safe/secured.
Overall, I had an excellent experience here. The place is as described.
Great location in the middle of town! I stayed here for two nights and had a great experience. I was looking for a simple room that wasn't too fancy. Peter and Heidy were very responsive from the moment I contacted them, and were able to accommodate me on a very short notice. Teresa I believe was the person who came to receive me and gave me a lot of helpful information and even walked with me to the supermarket across the street. Heidy had helped arrange a zip lining tour that I highly recommend and she also booked my transfer from Fortuna to Manuel Antonio through Ride CR. I enjoyed being able to walk to everything in town easily. The other guests stayed in their rooms mostly when but in my limited interactions with them, they were very friendly as well.
Extremely communicative and responsive while I was traveling. Very welcoming and friendly while I stayed, and very helpful finding placed and had lots of suggestions. The hostel is beautiful and comfortable, and all the others guests were friendly. A great experience!
This place was absolutely fantastic the entire two days we stayed. The hosts were very helpful and communicative from the start and were even forgiving and flexible when we arrived late due to a change in flight plans. They were very sweet to provide tour suggestions, offer to make calls, had a phone available in the common space for others to use and offered laundry service for a very reasonable price. The lodge was very easy to find, in a super convenient and nice location- close to everything the town has to offer. The place was clean, safe, secure and even offered coffee to guests. I highly recommend this place for those staying in the Arenal area, especially since it's just minutes from all the tours and activities.
Had an amazing time at the sleeping indian which is in the heart of La Fortuna. Peter and Heidi met all of our needs when it came to the BEST things to do and the BEST places to eat and drink. They made the first part of our trip to Costa Rica unforgettable and we can't thank them enough. Would recommend this place to anyone.

About the Host, Peter
Peter Ferguson the owner of the The Sleeping Indian Guesthouse and welcomes international travelers from all over the world.. Peter is a world traveler who has explored many varied countries and environments and has chosen La Fortuna as his favorite place on the planet and is enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge of this special area of a special country. The Sleeping Indian Guesthouse is centrally located in downtown La Fortuna named after a little chain of mountains next to Volcano Arenal in La Fortuna, Costa Rica. The wind and rain of millions of years of evolution has formed a chain of mountains that looks just like a sleeping indian. The more you look- the more you are amazed, since it seems that these giant mountains actually are a big Indian lying down. We think that no matter what kind of traveler you are, everybody likes to feel at home. Making you feel at home is Peter's goal. He loves people and he loves hosting.
